I ended up using Assist Killer and Spoiler: Made Of Metal since I didn't get First-Strike Advantage until quite a bit later. It did eventually work, but it took almost 30 tries even after that.
The win wasn't even satisfying, it just felt like the inevitable result of brute force attempts and not like, a good strategy or good play on my part. Calling that battle three stars is a joke, none of the four star battles I've seen so far even come close to being that bad...

I ran through that fight and almost every other one with an ore club equipped, which trivialized the entire world of light mode.

Yeah, I stopped using it pretty early because I was getting bored just spamming the same move. Didn't occur to me to try it against that dumb sheriff though, it probably would have helped a ton.
