Parser's note: I felt like running a non-serious, secondary text adventure quest, at the same time as my other, more serious quest. Both quests will be updated with roughly the same frequency.
Anyway, I was reading through the game archive and found an old quest involving Mokou in the pokemon world by capt.h, which sadly died out. However, despite how it never reached completion, the quest did give me inspiration for this one, so perhaps this could be a spiritual successor to it if it ever gets off the ground, so without further ado:

The Epic Touhou Pokemon Quest
//Apologies if this introduction seems somewhat rushed. But then again this quest isn't meant to be as serious as Maribel Hearn Quest.

>One day in the land of Gensokyo, several mysterious flyers began to circulate on the wind. The advertised a competition, with the promise of a grand prize, and the site of it, surprisingly, was at the Hakurei Shrine.

>The flyers found their way to several people, and one by one they began to flock to the site. The Ordinary Magician, Marisa Kirisame was the first to arrive. Followed by the maid, Sakuya Izayoi, and the moon rabbit, Reisen Udongein Inaba. Youmu Konpaku, Sanae Kochiya, and the ice fairy Cirno arrived not long after.

>Reimu Hakurei herself was confused, she had not sent out these flyers, nor had she given consent for a competition on the shrine grounds.
>"This must be an incident." she declares, and not long after, gaps suddenly open up under everybody, causing the seven to fall into a mysterious room, greeted by the one and only Yukari Yakumo.

>"Congratulations," Yukari smirks, "It seems all of you have received my challenge."

>"What is the meaning of this, Yukari?" Reimu frowns.
>"Yeah! What's the big deal ~ze!" Marisa adds.

>"Did you not read the flyers? Surely they mentioned a competition. And now that we seem to have seven challengers, we can begin."

>"Hey! I never agreed to take part in this!" Reimu scowls even further.

>"You were at the shrine, were you not?"

>"Pardon me," Sakuya interrupts, "But exactly what are the details of this competition anyway?"

>"Ah, I didn't think anybody was going to ask!" Yukari smiles, "Well, I've been feeling unusually bored as of late, and I felt that we needed to mix things up a little regarding the spellcard laws, so I devised this little plan... Think of it not as an incident but more like... a game... a fun game."
>She gestures to a table with seven odd objects on it. "I'm going to send all of you to another world, where the rules of battle are different from Gensokyo, and that is inhabited by creatures unlike any you have ever seen."
>She holds up seven fingers, "Within this world are seven major regions, with one champion each. I have given each champion a key. Whoever gathers four of these keys will be able to open a gap back to Gensokyo, where you will be able to challenge me. And once I am defeated, I will crown one of you the winner and you can all go home. How does that sound?"

>"Okay, how about this?" Reimu draws her gohei, "We don't do that, I proceed to-"

>"OOH! THAT SOUNDS LIKE FUN!" Cirno suddenly cuts in, "LET'S DO IT!"

>"It certainly sounds interesting..." says Sakuya, "And if my mistress were here, she would probably accept the challenge. So I will accept it in her name."

>"Yeah," Sanae adds, "I kinda want to try it too. Do you think they have any gods? Maybe I could get Lady Kanako and Lady Suwako some new followers while I'm at it."

>"Well, Master said to investigate this, so I guess I'll accept." Reisen nods.

>"D-Do you guys really think this is a good idea?" Youmu asks.

>"Probably not ~ze." Marisa shrugs, "But now that I think about it, maybe there's some interestin' stuff there..."

>"I guess you're right..."

>"Come now, Reimu, don't be such a spoilsport." Yukari opens a fan, "Everyone else is willing to give it a try... Couldn't you at least humor me? I also promise nothing bad will happen in Gensokyo when you're gone..."

>"Yeah, Reimu, everyone else wants to do it! Give it a chance!" Cirno grabs onto her skirt.

>"Ugh! Fine!" Reimu relents, "But I still don't like this one bit, Yukari!"

>"Good." Yukari nods, "Now that everyone has accepted, you will get to choose one item from the table behind me. It will determine which region I will send each of you to, as well as possibly give you an edge. Now, who wants to go first?"

>You are Youmu Konpaku.

>You honestly didn't want to be here. It was your mistress, Yuyuko, who originally found the flyer anyway. However, it ended up being you who was sent to the shrine, at Yuyuko's urging. Now that you think about it, she probably knew at least something about what was up, considering she and Yukari go way back...

>You are an accomplished swordfighter, and always carry two swords: The Katana, Roukanken, capable of cutting through almost anything, and the Wakazashi, Hakurouken, which has been passed down through your family for generations, and is able to dispel confusion on those it cuts. Only your bloodline can wield it.

>Speaking of your bloodline, you come from a family of half-phantoms, as such you have a phantom half, which has been affectionately nicknamed "Myon", that almost always floats by your side. You are capable of ordering it around, and it is capable of shooting danmaku as well. You can also see through it, though the effect is both tiring and disorienting, so you can't keep it up for long.

>Now, you don't know why, but on a whim you raised your hand at Yukari's question, managing to beat the ice fairy by a fraction of a second.

>"Alright, Youmu gets the first pick. Cirno gets the next choice." she says.

>"Aww..." Cirno pouts.

>Yukari directs your attention to the items on the table behind her, "The seven regions, if I recall correctly, are known as Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, Kalos, and Alola." she explains, "Whichever item you pick determines which one you will start in." she opens her fan, "Of course, I'm not going to tell you which one leads to which. Can't make things too easy now, can I?"
