I can actually play this year if you still got room
We should, particularly if Edible can provide a balancing friend should we need one. Gimme your e-mail addie so I can send an invite.
Let's say I was interested in this, but also don't know the first thing about it, what do I have to do, in terms of registering and in terms of week to week?
In order to register, you need a Yahoo e-mail account that I can send an invite to. The instructions in the invite should be helpful enough on their own that you can get in.
For the actual draft process, if you're doing this for the first time and aren't really too terribly caught up on all the players in the league, you're generally pretty safe following Yahoo's rankings while considering positions you need versus positions you don't (and also possibly considering bye weeks, depending on who you listen to). Thankfully football is leagues less complicated than baseball and all players contributes toward the same general set of points so you don't need to worry too much about different skill sets.
For week-to-week purposes, you can usually get away with popping in and checking on the status of your players once a day for not even five minutes, though you'll always want to make sure to do another status check shortly before each set of games in a given week (Thursday night game, Sunday early afternoon games, Sunday later afternoon games, Sunday night game, Monday night game, plus some other occasional special time slots) to make sure players aren't suddenly injured and need to be subbed out for someone else. You might also want to keep an ear to the ground regarding players trending up, down, or toward injury - there are plenty of sites out there that can help with this (including Yahoo, obviously).
Alternatively, you can draft no one but players from bird teams like PX did four years running. It actually won him the title last year, so who are the rest of us to criticize?
