Wheee! The first 10 penalties was the weirdest penalty shootout I've ever seen. Just how badly can you miss?

@Tamashii Kanjou: I remember one like that too, but this one being a Germany-Italy decider at a late point in the tournament makes it all the more special. This was actually the longest Euro penalty shootout ever, ex aequo with the Czechoslovakia-Italy 1980 match (yes, I checked Wikipedia for that).

Oh, and now Iceland will have the honor of knocking out the current world champions on their way to the final.

Also, another quick mention to the penalties, that one guy who pretty much ran on the spot taking his shot only to hurl it elsewhere... is very quickly orbiting oh so many jokes XD

Anyway, Germany clearly deserved to win more than Italy, we were basically hoping for a lucky break almost the entire match....

Highlights:
- Buffon casting "Miracle" to save us from 2-0
- Boateng thinking he's playing volleyball and going for an amazing block, gifting us the equalizer
- THE MOST RIDICULOUS SHOOTOUTS I'VE EVER SEEN

Seriously, both teams missed HORRIBLY half of their shots >_>

Oh well, i guess Wales - Iceland is it then :V

Nobody understood what Boateng was doing. But basically he was duelling inside the 16. He raised his arms to signal: "Look I am not touching my opponent while duelling for the incoming ball." The idea was good. Because within the 16, the dude might drop himself and earn a penalty that way. However, the unfortunate part was that the ball changed direction due to earlier contact and went for his hands.

So yea, next time, don't raise your arms at all.

So true. If he didn't do that, it would've spared everyone involved the extra time and that hell of a penalty shootout, but shit happens, I guess.
It really was almost pure luck that we won with after Boateng's pitiful mistake.

That match really wrecked my nerves, and hell went loose inside me the moment Hector got it in. Now I need time to recover my voice :V

I'm betting my bucks on Iceland tonight.

Well, miracle didn't happen. Nonetheless, I have to give credit to France. They didn't underestimate Iceland. Both teams kept trying right to the end.
