>You take to the air, and head for the north.
>The forest stretches ahead of you as far as you can see, a vast sea of trees dotted by the occasional creek. Here and there you see faeries playing around. Nothing feels familiar, but this could be like any unexplored segment of the Forest of Magic. But it just doesn't stop. Minutes then tens of minutes pass by; you've easily covered the trip to Scarlet Devil Mansion and back twice by now, before you finally see the edge of it. Beyond that are farms, wide fields of rice and other familiar crops. And beyond that, you can see what looks like a town, stretching along the horizon.

>You are too far from the village to spot anything, but it does not look familiar at all and seems much too large to be familiar.

> Make our way toward the farms, and see if anyone is around withing on them.

>You reach the edge of the forest, and look down toward the farms. You can see a fair number of field hands at work in them, tending to the rice paddies. You note the farmhouses seem to be clustered around large fields, no doubt to make the best use of space and communally labor on them.

> Take flight again and head toward the town.

>You make your way toward the town.
>It stretches out in every direction, you can barely see the edges of it from the air. Housing rows, shops, and buildings you cannot identify stretch out in a chaotic tangle. Here and there is a square with some statue or perhaps a well. People of all kinds mill about, carts run up and down the dirt roads at seemingly random, here and there you see farm animals running around; chickens and the odd goat or pig. A babble of voices and sounds of life raise from it in a kind of general roar. You've never seen anything like it.
>You think you are close to the western edge of the town, it comes to an end not too terribly far away, now that you look in that direction. It stretches further to the east, you think you can pick out what looks like a huge marketplace; or at least huger than the one you are used to. To the far east, you can see a forest; perhaps some kind of park? The town certainly goes right to the edge of it.

>You land in a nearby square. A number of people are here; some you imagine live in the homes that ring the square, others seem to be grazing animals; mostly chickens. It is not terribly busy. A statue stands in the center of it, depicting a hooded woman holding her arm out to her side, and her open hand raised toward the heavens. No one really seems to take especial note of you.

> Investigate the statue up close.

>You have a closer look at the statue. You have no idea who this is, but looking underneath, you notice that she seems to have widely flared ears, making you think of a tapir or a pig. There doesn't seem to be any indication of who this person is. The statue itself seems to be made of granite, you think, and clearly has been around for some time, given the amount of discoloration and wearing on the edges that it has. These give it some nice character, though, rather like some of the older statues in Mistress' Garden.
