>"No, not yet. Hopefully she hasn't died".

>Let's not say the second part. Sounds a bit... pessimistic to me.

>"Did you check the west side like I asked?" she calls back.

>Examine the book's cover.
>Would flying higher help us look for Keine and Meiling?

>Whatever the cover says, it wasn't in anything you could read when you picked it up.
>It may, depending on the circumstances. It's very plausible she is caught under a fallen shelf, and thus would be obscured from above. As well, there were the risks detailed earlier to consider.

>Meiling doesn't answer. You imagine she feels no need to reiterate the point.
>Yes, but they are probably as likely to cause new problems as solve old ones. As well, you're fairly sure Mistress was preparing them to deal with the fires and such anyways. Getting them to adapt to the new task ably would likely take more time than it saves.

>Now to get back on track, let's head to the West Sector !
>Keep our eyes peeled for blood, clothing or more sparking books.

>You head westward.
>Many of the shelves here have fallen against other shelves. creating a number of tight spaces. It also means the orderly rows at all but gone, rather the area is full of odd-bookshelf megaliths that are about to collapse. As you make your way there, one gives up and nosily collapses off to your right, sending hundreds of pounds books everywhere. Looking around, you don't see anything like blood or clothing, but you do see one book wriggling a bit off to your left. You can proceed ahead if you are willing to duck under a precariously balanced shelf. Otherwise you will need to go around. Leftward are more fallen shelves and scattered books, while there are more standing or precariously balanced shelves to the right.
>As you assess things, one of the books from books from the recently collapsed shelf takes to the air and flies toward the northern part of the room, moving as if it were thrown.

>You have a closer look at the collapsed shelf ahead. You should be able to duck through it, and it doesn't seem like it's going to collapse immediately. However, you do not want to jostle it.
>The wriggling book is not open. As for what is safe as far as storage goes, you must decide. You hear another shelf collapse somewhere ahead; you can only hope Keine is not under it while you dawdle here.

>Once safely on the other size, proceed to search again.
>"Miss Keine ? Can you hear me ?!?"

>You crawl through. The shelves hold, thankfully. Past it, you find yourself in what can best be described as a kind of ridge of partially-fallen shelves stretching along to your right, precariously balanced. A lot of books litter the floor here in large piles that spill out for some yards. For a moment, you wonder if Keine might be buried one one of them, particularly when you call out with no answer. Then you think you catch a glimpse of blue fabric ahead and to the right, just peeking out of the ridge?

>Very. It's called Last for a reason. Moreover, if it doesn't work, you are going to be left in a bad way.

>Slowly hover over the books and slowly slither through the fallen bookcases.

>You take to the air and hover over the books. As you make your way forward, you can see her. She is unconscious and half-buried in thick tomes; you suspect at a glance she wasn't standing there so much as having landed there. The bookcases over her are quite precarious, you think one is just about to slip, which would only rain more thick grimoires down on her.

>You are in the west, and slightly north.

Wait ! Don`t dig her immediately !

>"Where are you?" Meiling calls, you think from across the library.
>You don't think the books would be up to the job. The bookcases are too large and heavy to really move around.
>You don't know if she'd make it in time, but it feels unlikely.
>You move to close in on Keine, and note the shelf is starting to visibly slip!
