> Do we know if we have a reputation with wild fairies?

>There's maybe four or five right now. Not many at all.
>You definitely do. This tends not to matter much when they get riled up during incidents, but in more peaceable times, there's a good chance any given faerie will at least know of you, even if they don't recognize you.

>Meiling is kind enough to them, as long as they aren't trying to force their way in, but she has a hard time keeping up with them. You wouldn't want her to direct them cleaning a room, she'd lose control of them shortly.

>The most notable one is that she would benefit from the mansion's protection, or at least anyone who messed with her would afterwards benefit from the mansion's retaliation.
>"Good luck!" says Meiling, as you take to the air.
>Flying over the lake, you see there are five faeries that are out in the open. Two of them seem to be playing some kind of game involving a handful of rocks on the lake shore. Three others are engaged in what seems to be a game of tag.

>Examine the Fairies, how tall are they ? How are they dressed ?

>Most of them are about the size of human children, save for one playing with rocks, who is about half that size. They seem to be wearing sundresses; one of the tag players has a matching hat.

> Are we in a position of sufficient authority that we could propose to the mermaid that she become a vassal? Or does that require Mistress' signature?

> Make our way over to the two playing rock games.

>You can't propose anything binding, but you could bring up the idea, then run it past Mistress for approval.
>You approach the faeries on the lakeshore. The taller one, a redhead in a yellow dress, notices you coming and cries out. The smaller one looks at you with alarm. It seems they recognize you, and have concluded the worst? Or perhaps the are just cautious in general?

> What is the proper way to deal with terrified fairies?

>Sometimes you can distract them out of being terrified, if you can figure out what is on their mind at the moment. Other times, it's best to reassure them. With some maids, they can be terrified out of being terrified by something else (generally yourself), but you don't know how well this would work on wild faeries to your advantage.
