Every few months, usually. Though there have been times where there would be no public contests for a year or so.

How is everyone else going with their entries? I only have the last spell left (doing 7 spell, 4 non spell).
Anyone had comical screen shot worthy things happen while making their entry? I did this by mistake when curving my lasers too much preventing them from leaving the screen: http://i.imgur.com/rPaRZTM.png

As you can see, criteria tend to depend on the judges themselves as well as the general contest guidelines, but there needs to be a certain element of fairness with regard to effort put into the script, difficulty of each attack compared to each other, etc.

It's actually a relatively serious matter, and saying that you'll "rate all the pretty & easy to dodge stuff higher than everything else" is one of the reasons why multiple judges are required for contests and why judges, for the most part, must be pre-screened beforehand to ensure that they will be as fair and as unbiased as possible.

I totally agree with you. Well, a judge who only judge what's on screen without taking care of the work put in it, who ignores what the contestant wanted to show in his script and who acts only according to his tastes can't really be called a "judge".
