Hello all, RaNGErs.

(for the full post on reddit, see here: https://www.reddit.com/r/touhou/comments/3s2nju/rtouhous_hakurei_shrine_festival_super_advance/

Over on the Touhou subreddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/touhou/), we've created an event we're affectionately calling "Redditaisai", where the doujin creators of the western world are all coming together on July 1st 2016 as a unified release date for their latest works. A western online alternative to Reitaisai/Comiket, if you will, since we can't realistically all meet physically due to geographic isolation.

My question is, is there anyone here who would like to participate?

I would gladly like to participate and showcase my game, but the problem is that due to university eating up all my time and the fact that I yet have to properly learn how to work with Unity, I won't really have anything to show in half a year. At best I could get a one stage demo of the game with rudimentary graphics done. ^^;

So, uh, unless showcasing a demo is okay with you guys, I don't think I can get anything done until that date. ^^;

Either way, I think that this event is a great idea, and I'll definitely will be around that day to (at least) look at all the cool stuff other people are presenting. ^^

While this sounds interesting, I do have questions on organization. Will there be a subreddit devoted to this? How will 'submitters' be organized, if at all? etc.

In order for it to succeed as a 'convention', people have to be able to post their work in a way that their work can be organized, found, and seen by other people within the scope of the convention as well as externally. Additionally, since /r/Touhou would get swamped depending on how many people submit, Reddit's system would immediately root out slightly less popular entries and demote them, resulting in a very unfair balance depending on the time that someone posted.

Just a few concerns.

Either we could /r/Touhou as originally planned, or move it all to /r/TouhouDev. The idea was to get the average fan interested in these kinds of works, so I don't think it would be a good idea to put it in it's own subreddit.

I plan on keeping a "catalogue" of sorts, updated by the hour, of submissions. I'm in close contact with the mods, and will probably get said catalog post stickied.
