Hmm, yeah, that's... Mildly shameful. Better luck next time, Gungho. I mean, this kind of thing is semi-unavoidable, but this doesn't make you look fantastic.
I made a PADHerder. It's probably out of date though.

And I thought the whole "-5000 points if you clear a floor with active damage" that they imported from JP's last ranking dungeon would have discouraged that sort of thing.

Guess not! Maybe they should import the other restriction from that dungeon (
Spoiler:
no active skills
).

If they want to be as fair as possible, they'll make it be with predetermined teams.

But we all know they won't do that.

They should have just made it more than 5000. Like if it was -10k then all the top scores would drop by another 20k which is much more reasonable.

The problem with no actives/awakenings is a ton of other teams like rows teams are totally screwed and basically only pure combo teams like Ra Dragon and like Anubis is viable, and even then it comes down to getting a lucky no orbtroll run

No awakenings murders pretty much every team nowadays that isn't a rainbow team.

No actives, however, is much more reasonable. Or if they don't want to do that but still want there to be a significant penalty for fast-clearing floors, make the penalty 15k points. I think a lot of people wouldn't be nearly as high then.

I agree, but I'm not sure it isn't still the best fix we've got. I guess I prefer more RNG to the extreme consistency of whale teams that can just skip every floor. What it comes down to for me is just that PAD is too RNG-based for this to work no matter how they slice it, at least short of going very far outside the box. But denying teams that actually need ammo to work of their orb fixing seems harshly restrictive of what kinds of things are viable.

essentially yes

challenge, especially rankings, was a bad idea, but gungho is very stubborn and won't admit this.

the best option hands down would be literally just doing this like actual challenge mode and having multiple pre-set teams for you to choose from

this would flat out put everyone on the same ground, eliminate shit like this, be viable as a method of 'advertising' cards generating revenue for gungho, and just overall be a smoother concept

it's not even hard because they've done this in DG already for challenges, and functionality already exists in the challenge app they're copying

it might require time and programming to do MULTIPLE teams, but overall it's such a better experience it's really stupid to not do and it's a much more simple solution to the problem because in the first place this was caused by us being able to make our own teams

The fact that they're thinking about handing out even better rewards for the top10 soon only emphasizes this. I think even if they only had time to make a new team/dungeon for it every like 3 months it would still be hype. It'd be one of those events everyone would looks forward to every now and then.

Fun fact: Santa Claus has an attack in his dungeon called Chicken Barrel. I'm almost certain this is a reference to the KFC Party Barrel, a Japanese Christmas tradition that is also the source of the name of Karaagetarou's excellent doujin comic strip series Touhou Party Barrel.

So how does this kill you? Do the bones get stuck in your throat and you die? Is the ice cream so cold that your body freezes from the inside out? Do you asphyxiate on the salad?

The name is a reference to a beloved and tasty Christmas tradition, but that's just a name. The actual attack is that he blasts a bunch of chickens at you out of a (cannon) barrel. You know, some real classic Santa shit.

So something I didn't recall is that Raoh is no ordinary heartbreaker, but he also breaks jammers and poison.

Which would have saved me from an Ark Impact IF I REMEMBERED WHAT RAOH'S ACTIVE DOES

oh well

Shiva Dragon still murders no awakenings though

Welcome back, D/L Anubis

Also did you even see Takeminakata Cup, that dungeon is an RNG bullshit because they throw in the Blue Bowl Dragon which preemptively changes one color to Jammers. So Ra Dragon teams need heavy RNG to make sure they can even activate on that floor, mono color teams are fucked if their color gets converted.

Man this event pretty much feels like a non-event.

Previous events felt like holy shit so much to do with descends on top of challenge dungeons on top of stuff to farm

Now it's just like okay here's some easy piis and a new biweekly merry christmas

I don't know, the event descend (I'm assuming it's an event descend anyway, unless they decide to put Santa into the normal descend rotation) is cool. There's a higher-than-normal number of gift dungeons too. It's still a little on the slow side, sure, but it's got some neat stuff going for it.

Maybe it's just cause I'm playing monster strike at the same time and it feels like I constantly have stuff to run and farm while Pad ends up being like log in, run 1-2 challenge dungeons, done back to monster strike farming and suffering

okay so everyone knows that the auto target system is really dumb and you should manual target when you need it

EXCEPT THE MANUAL TARGET IS JUST AS RETARDED AND YOU WILL KEEP HITTING ABSORBS EVEN THOUGH YOU SPECIFICALLY TARGET THE OTHER MONSTER AND DONT MATCH ANY TPA OR 5 MATCHES

I just tried every targeting combination

NO MATTER WHAT YOU ATTACK THE FIRE ONE WITH FIRES WTF GUNGHO WTF IS WRONG WITH YOUR GAME

Died to Fagan in challenge mode

Ra Dragon is not cut out for this, his damage is too reliant on LS over awakenings

Maybe I should Hypermax Dmeta

oh wait right NO x10 DESCENDS THANKS

I generally don't do manual target in stages with monsters that have absorbs on one monster and no absorb on the other. Hitting absorbs happens to me when I do manual targetting more often than not

Uh, this is weird, i just OHKO the bosses of Light/Fire Mecha with A.Kirin and, despite not targeting, my 2 LKali focused on the one without Fire Absorb.....

And speaking of this, goddamnit but i suck at S-ranking.... failed both Light/Fire Mecha and Water Cat....  :X

This is me except on Granblue.

I've heard a lot about this game..... need to check it out (despite not understanding moonrunes :V )

I've always been curious, but is there any special incentive for trying to S-rank a dungeon? Couldn't find anything about this elsewhere.
