I had to deal with the post office lady deciding I couldn't speak Japanese (GAIJIN RIGHT) then trying to ask me about the contents in broken English (English EMS form so I wrote the contents in English) whilst I continued to speak Japanese because she couldn't understand my English explanation. She wasn't listening and was panicking then got her 'Hi my name is xxxxxx i can speak English' colleague with whom I had a pleasant conversation in Japanese (including but not limited to the contents of the package) with the original colleague listening in and looking very embarrassed. By the time I'd finished it had taken about an hour and the post office was past closing time, luckily they still took the parcels. This is a recurring thing I've found, people just do not want to believe I can speak Japanese here lol apart from one lady in melonbooks who gave me a bunch of free stickers because EEEEEEEEEEH? NIHONGO DEKIRU??? BIKKURISHIMASHITAHAHAHAHAHAHHAA |

My shipping story: Costed me money. I found the recording of movies quite fun to be honest. Also highly suspicious of Vic Viper rigging the pairing system to roll me as SS. I am not quite sure what he did to Reimu in order to make her HAXOR the list. Probably was one hell of a donation. --- Quote from: Vyrien on January 22, 2016, 06:09:25 AM ---I had to deal with the post office lady deciding I couldn't speak Japanese (GAIJIN RIGHT) then trying to ask me about the contents in broken English (English EMS form so I wrote the contents in English) whilst I continued to speak Japanese because she couldn't understand my English explanation. Why? --- Quote from: Vyrien on January 22, 2016, 06:09:25 AM ---apart from one lady in melonbooks who gave me a bunch of free stickers because EEEEEEEEEEH? NIHONGO DEKIRU??? BIKKURISHIMASHITAHAHAHAHAHAHHAA --- End quote --- Confirming reactions/startle from natives is funny when you're obvious-gaijin-as-***** and respond to them in Japanese. [*] Enter elevator with a couple > ask what floor they desire > BIKKURIIIIIII [*] Hold the door open at some mountain cafe for pair of ladies, receive 'arigatou' as default answer > respond back with JP 'you're welcome' > BIKKURIIIIIII [*] Walk around in Kamakura watching the statue, quad of female students suddenly say 'Herro *wave' > respond with JP 'Domo' > BIKKURIIIIII The responses always take a certain pattern. First they are logically surprised. Followed by usually the phrase: "You speak Japanese!?" Eventually asking: "Where / why did you learn Japanese" Edit: --- Quote from: Vyrien on January 22, 2016, 06:09:25 AM ---in melonbooks --- End quote --- I bet you were in the Adult version of Melong Books on the main street :V |
