>Sounds good to me.
>Let's say our farewells, take our leave, and go meet up with Lily.
>"Fine, but you owe us pie for keeping us in the dark for so long." Nitori says with a broad grin as you stand up to leave. You know her well enough to know that she
doesn't really mean it, but it draws laughter from the room. So, with your goodbyes said, and Reisen exricating herself from Hyozan's furry embrace, the three of you
make your way back out into the chilly winter air.
>The unpleasant cold and the incipient threat of either rain or wet snow would normally make you ask Reisen if she'd be willing to drive you down there. However, the
traffic in the city at this time of day is near its thickest, and the roads are slick as well, so you elect to walk uptown towards Sweet Apple Cafe.
>A week ago, this would have been just an ordinary day for you, walking to Koakuma's place with Rin and Reisen, one or more of your neighbors with you now and then.
Well, near enough to Koa's, anyway. And despite the rather public disturbances at Mayoiga High, the Tiger shrine and most recently at the Knowledge manor, life around the city seems to be progressing as normal. The traffic around town is as mixed and as heavy as it usually is at this time of day, the pedestrian and non-motorized traffic seems similarly undiminished, and while the odd snippit of conversation that crosses your ears does pertain to those unwelcome events, far more are simple mundane conversations. As is the conversation you share with your two friends. Obviously you couldn't really discuss matters pertaining to the Champions on crowded sidewalks anyway, but you find that you also have no strong desire to. Rin and Reisen talk about the rabbits' experiences as a street racer, and she also takes moments here and there to give you pointers on the proper way to handle a two-wheeled vehicle should you ever decide to acquire one. Or rather, use one, as you now technically own two of the things.
>You can't help but spend a moment pondering the difference between Rin and Reisen as you walk. Walking and talking casually like this with Reisen didn't happen with
Rin until she'd spent nearly two weeks with you. On the one hand, Reisen had had the advantage of living as your neighbour for a little while beforehand, so she was
more used to being around you, but on the other hand she'd also led a longer life before becoming a slave. Perhaps the difference is simple a matter of their differing
personalities, or due to their differing backgrounds. Something to ask about one day, perhaps.
>It feels a bit weird to walk past the brightly lit exterior of the Blue Lantern whilst accompanied by the two women flanking you, but your destination today is farther on. Even if you weren't familiar with the green and brown face of the Sweet Apple Cafe, there'd be no missing it, not with Lily standing on the sidewalk in front of the place, waving excitedly at you.
