>Nod. "Yup. I'm no expert map-maker, but I did the best I could."
>Point out the travel route. "This is kind of terrain I'll need to cross to get back to Yuuka's."

>You point out the route to Yuuka's on your map. Kyouko stares thoughtfully at the path your finger takes across the paper.
>"Is it rough?" she asks. You're not entirely sure whether to blame her cartographic skills or your own for this one. "And I still don't really know where this- Oh, is that Isir's Cross?" She stabs a finger at the fort.

Dunno if you've already considered this, but it might be a good idea to leave Kyouko on the outside of Yuuka's garden, just to make sure she doesn't trespass and get caught in the tetchy crossfire. And it'd be best to tell Kyouko such up-front, so she know's what she's getting into.

I intend to. After that last encounter, I don't think even bringing another flower lover along would help meeting Yuuka go any smoother.
At this point, I'm not even sure I want to take Kyouko along or not. But since she's here, and decent company, I felt I should at least sound out the possibility.

>"Uh huh. And yes, it's fairly rough. Or at least it seemed that way to me."
>Sketch her in on the gory details of our travel route.

>You fill Kyouko in on the details of your trip to the garden, the kind of terrain to expect, and the distances involved. She marvels a little at the underwater passage and the grotto beyond; you can see a dreamy look in her eyes as she pictures the quartz formations glinting in the moonlight. You leave out some of your meanderings that you have no need to repeat, and the details of the garden itself, but otherwise try to be comprehensive.
>"That's a long trip," she says quietly. "I wonder why someone would want to live all the way out there? It must be awfully lonely...."

>"Well, flowers are nice, too," she offers tentatively. Then her face brightens up. "Rin Rin is doing really well, by the way! She's so bright and cheery! Thanks again, Nazrin."

I think it's very much worth doing, if only for (a) a chaperone in case we keel over, and (b) a voice of optimism, in case we feel like we want to keel over.

I was also thinking of checking the Guildhall for a companion as well, someone who could travel well, yes, but also someone who could mix medicine on the spot. We'll need to do that down there at Yuuka's, and it's been stated that our own brewing skills are nicht perfect.

>Kyouko beams. For a moment, at least, before a frown tugs at it once more.
>"So you... don't know if you're healthy enough to make the trip back again?" she asks.

>"Not coming back?" There is a worried pause, as if she's hesitant to connect the dots to their obvious conclusion. Her eyes drift downward, and with some hesitation, she asks "What do you mean?"

>"Running out? Oh no!" She shakes her head vigorously. "Oh no no no. We have to do something! Well, you've already done something. We have to- Wait, did Yuuka realize you were... dying?" The last word is still said in a half-whisper, as though she didn't want to hear the sound of it herself.

>"She didn't care."

>"She didn't care." Kyouko repeats the words blandly. There is a pause. "She didn't care?! How could anyone not care?!" Despite your sheltered surroundings, you find yourself glancing back at the street to see if that blast caught anyone's attention. Kyouko's expression is a mixture of outrage and dumbstruck disbelief.

>"So she really had the flower that could save you and she sent you all the way back here first? To get something for her?" Kyouko seems to be becoming increasingly agitated. Not to mention loud.

>"It isn't fair," she insists. "We're going to go there, and I'm going to tell her to her face just what a horrible thing that was she did." There is a surprising amount of fire in that voice.
