> How might one 'invalidate' such a stance? Let's not consider angling around to her back, we're not yet in a position where we need to start attacking from behind. Perhaps angling around to her front would work for this? Or do we need to find ways to attack instead?
> Where is she holding Miko's sword?

>Angling to the front may work, if she cannot compensate for it. Which would mean keeping her from compensating.
>She is currently holding it at waist level, angled upward.

At the same time, twist our upper body so our right side is more forward and our left side is more behind us, and lean a little bit to our right to give the stab a little extra space to harmlessly pass by us.

>You slash diagonally, not bothering to turn your weapon around. Meira backs away quickly and breaking her stance for the moment, the weapon passing within a hair's breadth of her chest. Her furrowed brow tells you much about how much she expected this.

>You move in and feint at her shoulder. She pulls away, raising her sword to try and deflect yours, then you pull short and stab low. You can see the consternation on her face as she tries to adjust her defense, but there isn't much time. Her drawing back keeps it from being more than a glancing blow, but it's a strike nonetheless that draws a visible wince from her.
