Finally bought the Squid Girl dress in rotation, happy.  New level Flounder Heights reminds me a lot of the new Urchin Underpass.  Wish that Rainmaker was always available to play, sick of TC.

After playing a weapon as cumbersome as the .96 for a little while, swapping back to the Octobrush felt good.

I went out of my way to try to use my Beakons a lot yesterday, to some decent results. On Saltspray Rig in particular I had a lot of success putting them on top of stacks of crates on the central platform so that even if I wandered away or got knocked off I could jump back to a vantage point and consistently take out anyone who tried to invade. In like half a dozen games nobody ever thought to look up there for them.

I am glad that there is rotation of modes. Prevents game modes from dying out. If they would allow people to choose, otherwise you would have abandoned game modes where you might queue for ages.

This also forces people to get good at the game in all modes. Even I faced the fact I need to get good with the krak-on / dynamo rollers.

My own average kills on ranked are also around the 15-17 range (B ish rank currently) but more importantly I found something cool!

https://splatoon.nintendo.net/ is well, unfortunately mostly japanese but is quite easy to maneuver around, you can see (in top down order by the menu at the side) your friend list aka see who's online, ranking (i'm not sure how this one is calculated maybe forza knows), your current gear equipped and also a list of the weapons you've used the most, and lastly the current maps on rotation.

I was really amused at my own list:

Got round  to having a poke at the new map, and doing some Tower Control, which I haven't been able to do for a while as I kept missing it. FH is a pretty neat map; very open, with plenty of wall swimming goodness. Haven't played it in Turf Wars yet, but I quite like the style of it~

As for Tower Control, I finally got to play it on the Camp. And that stage is lunacy for the Tower; it's down right hilarious! What's not so funny, however, is that in the 4-5 matches I had today, not one of them ended with the tower parking at the base. Each of them lasted the full 5 minutes; two of them went into Extra Time. I remember playing TC when it came out, and how awesome it was to have matches mix the two different win conditions. But now, we get little idiots who just park in front of your spawn point, not caring about the tower in anyway. And it's infuriating! Play the damn game, or get the ever loving crap out of Ranked; you are costing your team points and levels by doing this sort of sh*t! {Yes, I had 3 games in a row, where this happened; and each time I backed out and reset the players only to get someone else doing the same thing, or the last one, where two of the team did it.}

So yeah, I like TC, but some of the people who play don't seem to know what the f**k the tower is~ >>

Oh whoops I meant to say the average of my high scores was 20ish (im sorry my brain got lazy and I derped ) actual average is probably about 15..
Deaths wise it varies like 7-12

Tried to draw a heart with the carbon roller today because there's nice corners in FH where the chances of people bothering you is lower.. but turns out I'm bad at drawing hearts, next time ill use a paintbrush! Also TIL carbon roller painting speed is slower than a swimming kraken

Yeah, but I periodically second guess whether I should be here or not. I more or less consistently rank in the bottom half of my team, often the bottom. I guess Aerospray is a support class so I shouldn't expect tons of kills, but I still feel like I die way too much.

I think it's because most people in ranked are used to Aerosprays and know how to effectively counter them

Oh yeah I just realised the https://splatoon.nintendo.net/schedule schedule here not just shows you the current maps in play but also the upcoming maps + modes, so it's good for people who've been hating moray towers or the like

I joined the cause of the dutiful Ants in the JP Splatfest last night, but it took forever for me to get a decent team or something because I had a ridiculous losing streak. I guess that should've been expected, because while all the Ants were getting work done and being PRODUCTIVE, the Grasshoppers were lazing about and playing the game. Well, we'll see who gets the last laugh when winter rolls around.

Speaking of winter, I'm expecting a Summer vs. Winter Splatfest to happen at some point. Maybe during the fall or something - I can see it being set up as "Do you already miss summer?" vs. "Are you looking forward to winter?"

Flounder Heights is one of those maps where the Aerospray is degenerately good because there's so much surface area that efficiency matters more than anything else. Plenty of space to find a corner to paint and charge up my Inkzooka, then make a push when my super is up and claim more map.

Although I did embarrass myself twice by forgetting that while I usually run Subweapon Efficiency to be able to follow up my Seekers with some shooting, today I swapped to Super Charge to get more Inkzookas. I had two different times that I jumped off a roof into a pair of enemies, set down a Seeker in midair, and planned on splatting them upon hitting the ground, but found myself unexpectedly out of ammo and getting killed before I could do anything. Ouch.

Once was playing Port Mackerel, inking like crazy on the enemy side.  Got right up behind someone, shot once and then finally ran out of ammo, was dead very quickly.  Felt really dumb for the rest of the match

Pico and I had a few runs with/against each other. Joined me while I was tired from Ranked games, so took me while to suddenly notice: "Oh hey, that Inkbrush Inkling! that is Pico". I think we got placed on opposing teams more than together. Think I counted maybe 3 matches together out of the dozen or so we played. Heavily unbalanced teams as usual in Turf War. I think there was only one game where we won by %0.1, aside from that your average turf war :V

What do you guys think of the Rapid Blaster? I've been trying to settle on a more ranged-based weapon for the game mode/map combinations where my current weapons (Aerospray and Octobrush) don't cut it. I've tried the Luna Blaster, the Ranged Blaster, the .96, and now the Rapid Blaster, and I think it's my favorite so far.

My problem so far is that I don't really have quick or steady aim, so if someone gets the drop on me when I'm using a cumbersome weapon I'm at even more of a disadvantage than I should be. But the Rapid Blaster seems like a fair mix between power, range, and speed with solid subs. I don't usually like mines that much, but I've found them to be useful in this case for some reason. And obviously Bubbler is great, I saved myself from getting squashed by a Kraken with it yesterday and felt super cool (he still killed a teammate and got away, but it would have been worse...).

So what do you guys think? Given my possibly-inadequate explanation of my situation is Rapid Blaster my best option? How do you think it measures up to similar weapons?
