Let's see here. Knight => Geomancer => Dragoon, which basically meant I went all the way to the fire crystal with a four Knight team and chopped up everything. So now it's two Knights and two Geos for most of the rest of the first world... Which means I have to deal with several bosses that will laugh at the combination. Oh well at least everyone's controllable...

Plus, if I can get a rod or staff user as my last job, I can take on Shinryu and win - steal a trio of dragon lances, give my non-knights Equip Spears, low-HP everyone, berserk the dragon, and then go to town while my Knight !Guards the whole time. But that's only if I get a rod/staff user.

OH
NO

Her first (serious) year in 4JF during her first (serious) run through the game and she's got the only class that requires enough study time to qualify as an undergraduate minor?! Why?!

OK I know this is serious business because of your line breaks and font size AND COLOR changes.
It's karmic revenge by the universe because I've been complaining about blue mage in other games. Well, perhaps I can skate by with just a few classes in Blue Mage Studies because I probably will flunk out of college if I have to major in it.  :fail:

EDIT: OK I just realized you wrote minor and not major so that already changes my expectations. :V

Mystic knight, Berserker, Chemist

Thanks Gilgabot. I definitely appreciate you making Omega almost completely free instead of the luck based BS it was looking like. I wonder what my Earth Crystal roll will be.

The long and short of Big Blues is that they are a versatile class that requires a lot of GREAT WORK to max out their abilities. For your intents and purposes, this will most likely boil down to me giving you a handful of good skills worth hunting out and letting you pick and choose from the ones that may or may not come in useful. There are study materials that are readily available, too. It may be worthwhile to take a peek at your other classes to see what skills you will have available to you.

But yes, the first class in your draw takes more work, requires more patience, and needs more understanding of game mechanics than all of the other classes in the game.

Mystic Knight, Berserker, Chemist, Berserker.

At least this is more reasonable for Omega than my knight/Berserker/Ninja/Berserker from last year.

Have used autobattle(Berserker job or Berserk ability on all 4 members) so far on Karnak Escape, Ifrit, Crayclaw, Adamantoise, Soul Cannon, and Archaeaevis.

And now my full team is revealed: Knight, Geomancer, Dragoon, Dancer. There goes Shinryu, probably. Also only one AoE character and it's randomized... great singletarget damage, though.
...Will have to rely on items to heal, but, hey, Equip Ribbons to take care of some of the status effects..

Gotten up to (and defeated) Byblos right now.

LiquidFlame suuuuuuuucks as 4zerk.  Level grind all you want, unless you grind to the point of three-shotting him or something you have to hope he doesn't go into human form a ton or Blaze keeps happening until death.

And then Beastmaster happened and Byblos died to a Page 64 release (~1k damage!) and a Whip paralyze. Next job is Dragoon (going to remain faithful to the rules and not reveal 4th job although I'm predicting Berserker at this point) so uh.

Good news: I can fix the Berserker's speed via Equip Whip.
Bad news: I'm going to have to do a lot of job shuffling because the only other thing I should even bother transferring right now is !Catch. Might run triple Beastmaster and see if I can find a decent AP grind until I have at least Equip Whips on all before going for my Earth jobs.

Joining this Fiesta. So far has been so-so. Garula party wiped me once.

Jobs so far: Monk and Time Mage. Gonna be hard without a healer on duty...

After a check, it appears triangles' observation regarding ~CHAOS~ is correct. Your first job, regardless of which crystal it is associated with, is listed under the wind crystal job on the Players page on 4JF's site by default. This may be any job but will be the first crystal at which changing from freelancer to any other job will become necessary. Inputting commands for the water, fire, and earth crystal jobs will result in the rest of the party's classes being displayed. These jobs will proceed in a pre-selected order from wind crystal to earth crystal depending upon which jobs you rolled. Hence, if your first class is a wind crystal class, the next class in line may be any from wind, water, fire, and earth and will be sent out in that order. If your first class is a fire crystal class, the next class in line may be a fire or earth crystal class. The only exception to this rule seems to be berserkers, which can be rolled after receiving fire/earth classes. However, this seems to be limited to BERSERKER RISK anyhow.

In short, if playing a chaos run, go to the first crystal with which you have a job and roll until you get a job from the next crystal over. If playing BERSERKER RISK, you may just want to put them all up there as BERSERKERS are everywhere.

Edit: It may be worth linking Axel's successes to one player named DraknarEverhate, who is so angsty that s/he drew 4 bearserkers for a chaos + BERSERKER RISK run. It may be a name that is a self-fulfilling prophecy.

I'd argue Chemist or Beastmaster are up there too.  But yes.

Time Mage can equip the Healing Staff you can grab from Tycoon Castle so you are actually ok in that regard!  That's the starting line up I had last year it's not too shabby.

In short, if playing a chaos run, go to the first crystal with which you have a job and roll until you get a job from the next crystal over. If playing BERSERKER RISK, you may just want to put them all up there as BERSERKERS are everywhere.
I think you don't change over to your assigned Water/Fire/Earth Crystal classes even if you physically can due to early crystal double-dipping until you clear Garula / Karnak Castle /Archeoavis respectively.  At least that's how I plan on rolling.

Monk Time Mage is good synergy since now you can give the Monk Haste and he can use the Kaiser Knuckle to buff his damage up.

Got Summoner for my first job. Gonna start streaming my Fiesta so yeah.

So where are people getting these sprites from, exactly? I'd better prepare something for the arrival of the TIME FORCE.

EDIT: Never mind, I found one ><

EDIT 2: My third class is Dragoon! Meaning I get to play the rest of world 1 with time mages and geomancers.

I am going to break so many fucking rods you have no idea

And I'm done with the first run. Will submit the pics to rk later.

Did Catastrophe, Halicarnnasus, Twintanita, Genji Shield Gilgamesh(which I got with Thief knife), Shinryu, and Neo Exdeath all without saving in between any. I didn't even bother to fight Necrophobe. The only one that almost went bad from those was Shinryu since he was hitting despite Blind, Elven Mantles Guardian Daggers on some characters. I even forgot to grab the Magic Lamp, but I just use Dark Elixir on the part that you'd normally Odin with the lamp and hit first try(thanks Chemist level boosts), then hit Dark Gas on the Physical part since I forgot to keep a Dragon Fang for Neo to use Dark Sigh.

Yup it's doublezerker. Plan is to run bother Zerkers with Equip Whips to transfer the agility over, and run Beastmaster skills on the other two since bleh.

(Funny thing is, because :beastmaster: I can still berserk Shinryuu. I think I'd have to steal a ton of anti-dragon to make the fight sane but yeah)

It sucks when your PS2 Controller decide it wants to do random inputs when it shouldn't.

Time to learn how to VBA on Keyboard again.

This is why I used the keyboard for RPGs on VBA, they usually don't require much dexterity. That being said, the emulator does like to spaz out and not accept my inputs (it keeps thinking one button is pressed or something), forcing me to reset the game. :fail: It happens a lot with controllers too...Maybe I should make use of that SNES controller I got for Christmas.

The controller was acting up even on other games as well. I just had to shake the damn thing and I got random inputs.

Time to find me another one.
