Gensokyo *NOT* in Japan
« on: May 19, 2015, 12:41:05 AM »
Imagine what Gensokyo's society would be like if it was created in anywhere else but Japan.

Let's say... Wild West America? Nazi Germany? Imperial China? Imperial Korea? Just about any other countries except Japan.

What is your idea?

My idea would be that if Gensokyo was created in Imperial China, then a majority of the characters will become Chinese (barring the immigrants from Europe like Alice), and Yukari (or whatever that AU version of her will be called) will be ruling the place like an empress.
There's nothing inscribed on the dog tag...

Why did you name time periods along with those locations? Why not just "America, Germany, China, Korea?", i mean, you didn't say canon Gensokyo's in "Modern Japan".
But anyways, being in topic, i give you a series about Gensokyo being in America instead of Japan, NSFW because danbroou, also it seems like the author has abandoned it.

If Gensokyo was in the USA I'm sure we would have a Touhou of that guy with my name.

No really...I'd be perfect as Byakuren's Last Word in ULiL.

This is amazing. :V It's a shame the creator stopped.

If Gensokyo were in the UK:
- Everyone would drink tea together after incidents are resolved.
- Reimu, Marisa, and other incident solvers would apologise to bosses after defeating them. The mastermind(s), in particular, would be very apologetic.

Yes, as you reminded us before.

e: Eh, guess I should participate, too. Imagine Soviet Gensokyo. The politburo is a closed cabal of very powerful gods. Sections of Gensokyo are divided into tiny republics, each governed by a powerful human or youkai. Non-magic-using humans toil and dissent is crushed swiftly. There are long lines outside Rinnosuke's shape, people waiting with ration book in hand. And of course, the border doesn't just stay still; it actually expands. Good times.

I always liked to imagine that the alternate reality setting where Ugly Americans takes place is actually in the same plane of existence as the world of Gensokyo. It's just that they're in different geographic locations.

I can't help but muse 2 times over..

What I mean is let's assume what if Gensokyo was in some kind of female dominated society, not sure if there are any large ones in modern society but I know some have existed, if some don't still now (not that I'm trying to say anything about 1st world countries now or anything).

We have bro-hou now, and if such a thing happened, then..I dunno, it would have her-hou or fem-hou or whatever.

My point is though, if that happened, how would the girls look compared to they do now? I mean it's not like they're sexualized or anything, so would they be different at all? Maybe they WOULD be sexualized instead since bro-hou drawings that I've seen make fabio look like a scrawny nerd.
