Most painful moments whilst playing any touhou game

My most painful moment happened 2 MINUTES AGO.....  :X

I've been trying to capture Ripples of 495 Years for months and it's the only Extra spellcard i still miss. 2 minutes ago i actually reached it without dieing or bombing! I was sweating up a storm..... and of course i died about 5 seconds before capturing it.

So i lost both the spellcard AND my first ever NDNB run  :colonveeplusalpha:

Are you playing on Marisa-A? She does the most consistent damage in that game, even from far away.

No, i'm using Reimu-B (needles), it's my favourite shoot-type and the one i've the most experience with..... although using Marisa's uber damage output for the sake of capturing Ripples isn't a bad idea....

You can fix that problem by pressing the direction that is stuck on the numbpad

Alas, I was playing on my laptop back then, which didn't have a number pad. These days I can get to Kanako pretty consistently, if I get past Aya...

I'm suprised no one has mentioned this. :V

I can relate to this. Scarlet Meister and Scarlet Gensokyo are no joke, and Remilia's final nonspell is probably among my top 5 for frustrating patterns, even if it isn't her hardest attack.

Koishi has destroyed way too many of my SA Extra runs with her spellcard Suppression "Super-Ego". On paper, it does seem pretty easy, but I just can't do it no matter how many times I try, which makes her one of my most feared ex-bosses, even if just for that pattern.

Honorable mention to Yumemi Okazaki, for being the only touhou boss that completely annihilates me, even on lower difficulties.
