I don't see an issue with Lumiel creating many orbs. I actually think it'll have a similar output to say, a light heavy Sakuya team. You don't see Sakuya needing much in the way of awoken skills to get anything done, right?
Sakuya -should- be using Apollo/Valkyrie/Verche/Arthur to generate more light orbs, but that's basically it because you can't touch RGB orbs. All in all, that x25 multiplier only means so much when you can only use half the board as your primarily element.
Lumiel might only have 14x at best, but she procs off two dark combos. As long as you have four orbs of any other color, you're basically golden to pull all the other conversions you want. Sure, Lumiel creates a weird array of colors, but Dark devils have the luxury of converting all but fire (and even then you can use Hanzo for that because he still gets x9). That's using three active skills for one huge burst, but devils tend(?) to have acceptable-beefy HP and Lumiel is boosting everyone's RCV anyways.
Hanzo is a 5 CD conversion as usual, that boosts every other member's damage because of his row
Persephone will eventually be an 8 CD double conversion and her lack of awakenings don't matter too much because she creates metric tons of dark orbs.
Panda has much more utility though a weaker active. Still one of only two green>dark devil conversions.
CDD is a last resort option, and I only use him in conjunction with Byakko.
If you really don't like Lumiel's active that much, then pair up with someone who can contribute damage more reliably (like Beelzebub :V). Admittedly, I wish it made light instead of fire so that we could field Gryps Rider in on the conversion train but what can you do?
though I definitely get the Pandora ult taking ten more months before it hits here :c
