Have you ever known someone to spend a substantial amount of money on skillups? It probably happens, I'm sure it does, but I've never personally seen it and I have seen one person straight-up quit the game because they thought the skillup mechanics were too unfair to keep playing. It's a tradeoff and I have no idea which end is better, and I suspect neither does Gungho. And in that case I guess status quo is fine unless they're forced to change because of industry standards and/or desperation.

Well I would make the argument that L/L has the fallback x4 along with the optimal x8 and Awoken Ra only has up to x5 unless using an active (so better for finishing off a boss, worse for dungeons with multiple tough minibosses unless you have multiple short cd actives which admittedly you should have).

Then there's the problem of every new descend boss having a Resolve effect which means that having one insane burst isn't what you're going to want.

Although I guess Awoken Ra just completely killed off L/D Ra since the best reson to use L/D was on no-rcv dungeons. So much for the x7 buff.

Ra's 49x sucks. It gets outdamaged by things like Kirin and UmiYama who're far less work. He's not going to worry about oneshotting resolve people.

yeah i'm not arguing that it's a shitty mechanic. admittedly it's not as bad in Legend difficulty where Sopdet only has 830k hp but did you not notice

OK let's assume you run a Hathor team of x20.25, it is minimum of 5 combo, with 1 light match. And then you get really unlucky with skyfalls. You would still need 5 extra skyfalls to break 200k if none of those skyfalls were a light combo. Youd have to be super un?lucky for that to happen
