> Head back to the surface, with as much haste as we can without risking ruining the umbrella.

>You make your way toward the surface with a quick jog, taking care not to damage the umbrella.  The streets are still somewhat clear, as many of the city's residents crowd under the available eaves and into places where the rain is not falling too strongly. The streets are growing a bit slick as the rain starts to wash away some of the scum in the streets. However it's really only a problem to a staggering oni with a gourd who ends up flat on her face after losing her footing.  As you close in on the bridge leading from the city, you hear a voice from a nearby alleyway to your left call out, "Oi! Where do you think you're going!"

>"Anyways." She unsheathes her sword, "I was gonna be all dramatic about this, but since you apparently ain't got the zoggin' time..."

>Jump backwards out of her range as quickly as we can and adopt a fighting stance.
>How long is her sword?

>You leap back as her sword cleaves through the arm with such force that you can hear it in the air as it passes. There is no questioning this oni's strength, a hit from her would be catastrophic. You are certain that trying to block such blows would likely disarm you, or wrench your shoulder. You would need to deflect them with the utmost care!
>As you take a basic stance, the oni brings her swing around with remarkable speed and steps forward to follow through with another strike from the opposite direction.

>It varies, but it's generally considered better if one doesn't. You suspect she would have taken to the air if she intended it to be such.

> How fast are her sword swings so far? Are they about the same speed as ours?

>Her swings are fast, but the speed seems to be propelled more by force than training. You feel you could beat it.
