Spent all day grinding up stones for another pull.

[04:35:39] <~Nadeshiko-Matsuri> well that was an enormous fucking waste of time
[04:35:48] <~Nadeshiko-Matsuri> spent all day grinding up one last pull
[04:35:51] <~Nadeshiko-Matsuri> and what is it
[04:35:54] <~Nadeshiko-Matsuri> a fucking valkyrie
[04:36:00] <~Nadeshiko-Matsuri> a motherfucking valkyrie
[04:36:09] <~Nadeshiko-Matsuri> like the one I spent a year skillmaxing
[04:36:27] <~Nadeshiko-Matsuri> like the five I grabbed last week.
[04:36:39] <~Nadeshiko-Matsuri> I cannot think of anything more worthless than this.
[04:37:24] <~Nadeshiko-Matsuri> I really am never meant to get any good Indian gods, am I.
[04:37:40] <~Nadeshiko-Matsuri> every time one of the fests come along I go all out and NOTHING
[04:37:43] <~Nadeshiko-Matsuri> (but vritra.)

:persona:

What a fucking waste of my day.

That kinda reminds me of the one day when I ground up like 2 or 3 stones for it to pop out an Ice Golem, so I totally feel for you, Matsy.

The only stone I ground up today (for a duplicate Kurone! :c) was Zeus Mercury.

Zeus Mercury didn't board the Beelzebub train, because I ran him over.

Had a small moment of weakness and decided to buy a couple pulls (there's truly no harm in doing it once every few fests, especially when I have 1/10 of the pantheons).

What did I get though?

Pull 3: Ronia dupe
Pull 4: Shardra
Pull 5, to finish off the 4 stones I had left: Toytops

This game has a sick sense of irony. Glad to know I have every reason to stop paying GH for bad rolls rofl

I pay for rolls occasionally, which is to say I've spent $30(?) total. Both times it was kind of worth it too. First time got me the Misato I never use and all of the Eva silver eggs, second time got me the Liu Bei I never use but it's good I have I guess.  I've never actually pulled something I use in heavy rotation with money dollar stones, but I've never been totally screwed by it.

On one hand I feel like I've gotten well over $30 worth of enjoyment out of PAD, on the other hand it's cost me like hundreds of dollars already in lost productivity, so I'm already kind of whaling. But that's all kay, if it wasn't this it would have been something else. That's what I tell myself anyway.
I made a PADHerder. It's probably out of date though.

even though at the heart of this game, we're looking at static images doing the same five (ten if you have aoe on!) attacks to even more static images over and over again

I get to ogle at cards like Fagan and Odin, though, so no biggie.

I went two months not spending a penny and it was great. The only reason I did today was because of the upcoming awoken Indians and the fact that after all this time, they're the two pantheons I've got only one from, so any pull would have been a good investment, I feel.

Now I have no real reason to pull again unless they come around again. :v

so I've been thinking about whether to field Zeus Stratios on my Beelzebub team because my RCV is definitely all %HP, and Zeus Stratios definitely has the dual prong, huge HP and huge attack that I want.

Buuuut if I want to push the "MOAR HP WHO NEEDS RCV" idea even farther, there's also Satan, who would increase my HP by 25,000+ singlehandedly. His three rows will help out my Byakko+CDD burst, and in the event there are still too many fire orbs for my liking I can use World's End.

Zeus, or Satan...

Two of my major hobbies are reading comic books, the heart of which is looking at static images of weirdly-proportioned people wearing goofy outfits, and playing Magic, the heart of which is looking at static images of wizards and monsters. I do a lot of this kind of thing. PAD, like the others, just takes imaginaaaaatiooooon.

Has anyone else tried Pokemon Shuffle? It's pretty much Pokemon PaD except you only swap two orbs each turn instead of dragging them around, which sounds at lot less complicated but in practice it actually isn't because you still need to do a lot of board assessing to optimize cascades and skyfalls.

also it's free on 3ds cus it's pretty much is a full on pad clone :V

I just flat-out never spend any money here because:

1) I have no money to even spend - lunatic mode enabled by default

2) I've been told whaling reduces enjoyment. This seems to be YMMV, but even without spending money I have way more gods than I care to feed and raise up. I don't think I could handle having ridiculous amounts of dupes or 9/10 of a double fest pantheon list.

even though at the heart of this game, we're looking at static images doing the same five (ten if you have aoe on!) attacks to even more static images over and over again

People still minmax and play Pokemon competitively. Given the images have been less static over the years, watching 8-bit creatures launch blobby tornadoes or badly pixellated fire was the shit to do when I was younger, and it still very much seems to be the case.

I've been messing around with it. It's fun to poke at every once in a while and most of all the gems feel so useless I've never had the itch to use them :v

It's super unpolished and super less complicated in the bottom line, but a lot of fun really.

Holy shit Neptune in Zeus Mercury is a lot more scary when Beelzebub x2 doesn't block his poison.

Although, it's something I appreciate about Beelzebub is that he -tries- to address poison as one of the biggest threats to high HP/low RCV by having a poison block. Is 40% that great?  Nah. But he tries.

I've been swinging away at Izanami Descended with different teams, and I'm basically not making any progress. I know if I could get past the first floor I could beat it with Gabriel, but the first floor is basically impossible without one more skillboost. I may just have to keep hacking away until I either get an amazing opening board that facilitates two blue rows on turn two (and I'm not even sure that would work, since I've been swapping out friend I&I for friend Metatron for the extra skillboost, so I have two less rows) or a ton of skyfalls. Having the extra row from ultimate Sun Quan would be helpful, but of course he isn't out yet.

I've tried quite a few times with Kali, and it does seem theoretically possible to clear with her, but the luck would have to be crazy. I basically need a Kali activation with prongs on every single turn of the entire dungeon, and for my 60% lock resist to trigger on white Izanami. Would be a lot more plausible if I had a better dark sub and could actually take any hit ever, but I'm stuck with Durga since I just got my dark Izanami evolved today and she would need to be skillupped to really help a lot.
I made a PADHerder. It's probably out of date though.

I've been swinging away at Izanami Descended with different teams, and I'm basically not making any progress.

Izanami was one of the big ones for me too. I basically had to fill my team with outs to even have a chance against that one. Having actual bulk also really helps a lot with Divinegon and Liza.
