Watching people play f-zero is approximately 100x more exciting than watching them play mario kart.

will anything beat 'but I want to go fast' I wonder
I doubt it, they're doing Staff Ghost races.

Which to be fair the Staff Ghosts are crazy good but still.

(Looking forward to Death Race most whoops)

EDIT: Battleblock Theater.  They have the actual Narrator for the game on skype call and one of the designers and OH MY GOD this is amazing

The entire Battleblock Theater run was comedy gold. Now I kinda feel bad for not getting the game during the Winter sale. :V

Yep, Will Stamper (Narrator) and Dan 'Synj' Paladin (Artist) were in the skype call and the entire run was just amazingly hilarious.

Nifflas' birthday is also today, and he was in the Skype call during Midboss' run of Within a Deep Forest.

Oh man, I can't wait for that BBT speedrun re-upload. I missed it!

Also bought the speedrun bundle from Humble. Was a good deal, especially for Shantae!

I watched two guys destroy Battletoads this morning during breakfast. My friends and I spent years on and off just trying to get past stage 3 when we were kids and we never did it. They had everything down to a T.

There's a whole lot of Mario stuff this afternoon that might be ~*~MAINSTREAM~*~ but will probably be rife with speedrun perfectionists, tricks, and shenanigans.

Elder Scrolls 3 is tomorrow morning (Jan. 7th) but EARLY (6 am) and it helps to know the game inside and out to appreciate. For anyone that does, it'll be quite the show.

The evening of the 7th has 3 great niche platformers in Mischief Makers, Umihara Kawase, and Shovel Knight that have all deservedly received plaudits and the best Kirby game is floating in between.

On the 8th in the afternoon there's the Punch-Out!! games which are great (and have some fun incentives) and SotN should be a laugher. The games in the evening are good in general and again lend themselves to being entertaining playthroughs.

The 9th has Metroid before your big block of great LoZ games.

And everything on the second half of the day on the 10th should be worth the watch, although much of the challenge will be understanding just how much players will forgo in order to save some time.

Sonic Heroes was actually really interesting the game's broken to shit
F-Zero Climax and GX were pretty solid (although nothing near the raw hype machine that was GX last year)
Battleblock Theatre is like 3 hours long but as mentioned the entire thing is comedy gold

Also I'd come chill in the IRC to discuss things for once but apparently (and I have 0 idea why this is given I've connected to it precisely once in the past) my host is blacklisted or something so

Yeah, I'm not sure what's going on with that. Might post in the Letters to the Editor thread that just went up about it and see if that gets font's attention?

Forget Zelda II, Dram55 is making MINCEMEAT out of Kaizo, even with the numerous deaths. I have no words.  :o

Other people look at us playing Bullethell shooter and think "how do you do this".
Same goes for that Kaizo run  :V still nice run there. Would love to see the other Kaizo's in future AGDQs

I guess I have to watch it. I only know the 14 Minute alchemie speed run  :V (Steal items and alchemie set, craft +stats and speed potion and a "walk in the air" potion. run to the endboss)

I also remember Battletoads having WAY better graphics.  :(
