Yep, you read correctly.

The paper associated with the video is linked here.

Enjoy.

PS: I really wasn't sure where to post a thread like this, at first. :P

This is pretty neat. I have no words, as I'm not studying physics. :P

Seconded. Bookmarked to read later, for fun and as a Physics 'refresher'. :)

Nice. I will probably read that sometime.

I like how it portrays magic in Gensokyo as being science and sufficiently advanced technology, but the scarlet sisters are still immortal winged rapscallions.
Guess the flying-controlled-by-limb-position thing would explain why Rumia just sticks her arms out parallel to the ground when flying, what with the alternative being the human pretzel technique.
Plus, I guess that'd make Mystia an Iron Maiden, hyuk hyuk hyuk.

Yes, those Scarlet sisters... Who knows, maybe they possess the necessary biological processes which repair their chromosomal telomeres to slow/prevent aging.

Curiously, relating to Rumia's method of flight, this hints towards the notion of how genetics can play a role in determining how the iron fibers are first developed (ie in what orientations are they present within the skeletal structure).

I really appreciate the responses and questions the video and paper have received thus far. :)

Apologies for the double post, but an important update has been made with the paper.

Recently, Appendix B has been updated, with the addition of a Stage 3 diagram.
Its aim is be to better surmise the energy schemes related to explaining both Danmaku and Flight.
(Stage 3 diagram, aka the Danmaku-Flight Energy Scheme [DFES]).
A few other minor corrections here and there have been made.

Impressive though I haven't start reading it yet. I like how you explain about Flandre's wings, Sakuya's ability, Danmaku and other touhou stuff with science. So I wonder if you would make more of this. Maybe explain about Marisa's mini-Hakkero for instance.

PS: Just for fun. You could name your paper ' A Certain Magical and Scientific Gensokyo' or ' Toaru Majutsu to Kagaku no Gensokyo' :P

Another update again, this time to correct for a silly oversight with regards to some extra mass, contributed by the iron fibers for flight.
I'll make a point of posting future updates only in the youtube comments section from here on out (avoid spam). :P
