Windows 8.1 problems

It seems that every game i try will not start no matter what i try i only got th6 and the fighting games to work... PLEASE HELP!

I use Windows 8.1 and have no problems running any of the Touhou games.
What exactly happens when you try to run a game?
Are you using English patches for the games?

Yes I use the english patches and it gives me some weird error message in gibberish.

Can you post a screenshot of the error message?
As a guess, download and install these DirectX updates, even if you think you have the latest DirectX: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35

yeah I would run the DirectX installer I posted above.
Also what's your graphics card (GPU)?

i ran the installer it says im up to date on DirectX and the gpu is Intel HD Graphics 4400 but a game like garry's mod on high at 60 fps.

I think I found a solution to the error. Apparently if you just make a new folder somewhere else, then copy the contents of the Touhou game folder into that new folder, the game will work.
There might be a more specific/general solution though. In what directory are your Touhou games located?

i put all the games in a single folder called Touhou on the desktop

Rename the game folders to not contain any Japanese characters, then try again.
