This is extremely subjective, and I would know because I did use to do this for a month of two, and even now I think it's extremely time consuming compared to other things I could be doing with my stamina. (Collecting stones for Verdandi, Py hunting, Present Egg hunting, Skillup hunting) I don't have five slots to waste per baby, because those slots are needed for other things (I actually try to keep 30+ open at all times for alt dungeon looping, it's pretty much required for max efficiency.)
I myself have two tamas in reserve, but there's also the consideration that some of us run multiple teams (I think I have about 4 or so in progress? and I haven't spent a cent on this game) and with row/skillboost/tpa being vastly important, the teams are horribly less effective if there aren't enough tamas. It's just a really frustrating thing in general and requires you to be luckier than succeeding at the coinflip chance to awaken on the baby.
You're doing this not on a rush. You need to draw a fine line between, when you need it, and do you need it now?
The reason I was effectively awakening monsters with the "awaken a monster with the same monster", was 'cause I wasn't in a rush.
I'd like to add to the baby tama discussion that you can really get RNG screwed on the topalit drops and it doesn't feel worth it.
With Friday dungeon master being slightly better than 1/3 drop, let's say 40%, you're using 62.5 stamina on average to get that topalit. Then you have to run Thursday probably twice, so that's 20. That's 82.5 stamina per baby tama, which is half of my bar and a little more than 1/4 of the daily amount. This process can take months.
I think it's far better to just know you're going to blow as many stones as possible to run that tama village in the hour it's up. Especially since you only need tamas occasionally but for many monsters their awakenings are the draws, so it's the quickest, most painless way to getting that new thing you need.
I didn't say to run Friday Dungeon. And I didn't say to run the T6 dungeon on a rush.
The reason why this is effective is because you're "not rushing". You're stockpiling while ranking up.
You only do T5 - T6 when you don't/can't do special dungeons or no special dungeons that you want are available. I mean seriously, what else are you gonna do with your full stamina bar when you have nothing else to spend it on? Ofc, the normal T5 - T6 are the next best thing, which is to rank up. Sure you could do Starlight Sanctuary, but seriously compare it to the "extras" you'll be getting on T5 and lower T6 instead.
The evo mats are practically extra.
Why I have tons of evo mats 'cause:
1. Ever since I started playing, I never threw out/sell/waste evo mats I got from normal dungeons. I just stockpile them.
2. I always buy a lot of boxes, around twice more than my current rank.
3. Ever since I started farming rank exp on T5 and T6, I have stockpiled loads of evo mats, even though I have few monsters back then that needs evo'ing.
4. Thanks to the stockpiled evo mats, the latter monsters I got that needs evo'ing are easier to evo since I already have the materials.
5. Now that I already evo'd most of them, even the extras, I'm still accumulating evo mats whenever I decide to do T5 - T6 dungeons. Which is if I don't have any particular special dungeon to do that day.
6. To decide which Tier dungeon I'd go, I decide first which King Dragon I need more. King Metal Dragon or King Gold Dragon, in their respective tier. Currently, I usually go to Tier 6, since I need King Gold Dragon more.
6b. I also decide which, if there's a monster(s) that needs leveling to final evo(not ult)/evo with awakenings.
7. The only evo mats I farm on their respective weekly dungeons are the lower evo mats. Eg. Evo masks, Dragon Seeds/Plants, etc, and ofc Keepers.
8. I only ever farm a respective weekly dungeon for evo mats if I'm in a rush to evo something.
9. The only time I would ever throw/sell/feed evo mats is if exceeds 20-30 for an evo mat that's easy to get(eg. Divine Masks/Most of the Keepers/Seeds/Plants). Fruits, Mystic Mask, KoR, etc. I stockpile them.
10. In a level-up rush, the extra Dragon Fruits/KoRs/M.Masks/Dub-Mythlits comes in handy. Giving 7500/15000/15000/15000 on same-color respectively.
Ideally, back then during the 1 sta/10 min era, I was able to optimize this well.
Right now, this still works, but ofc, my stamina isn't as optimized as back then since I'm fairly busy. I usually find myself having full stamina after a few hours or so.
Edit: It's something I learned here. Which I improved a bit for stamina efficiency.

Think about it this way. If you already have stockpiled evo mats for Baby Tamas even before you farmed for them. And did the Tama dungeon. Get a lot of Baby Tamas. Did the evo on Tama. Awoken a lot of your monsters. You're pretty much set for a long time. You won't have to think of doing Tama dungeon again, since you already awoken most of the monsters you want. Assuming you get an avg of 2-3 monsters per month that are suitable subs/leaders with awakenings. Again, there are times you'll be doing T5s-T6s since you can't do anything else. Basically, you stockpile again. Do the Tama Dungeon when you are at the edge of your comfort zone, that feels there's monsters you have that needs awakenings. Evolved them, and feed. It's a cycle.
The name of the game is farming. Which is true for late-game. Ofc it'll take months. It isn't farming if it takes a little time to achieve.
