To be honest, I'm not sure we even know that much. It's possible she simply saw an opportunity to bully/humiliate a hated rival and took it.

I do wonder if/hope that we can get back here with Kay, though.

> While turning, grab at our cloak with our right hand. If we succeed in grabbing it, hold it close to our body.
> Run!

>You duck back, taking you outside the establishment, and to the left, narrowly evading the oni's lunge as you gather up your cloak. Then you break into a run, heading into the crowded streets. You can hear several of the establishment patrons behind you, while the crowds ahead will make it difficult to simply run in a straight line.

> We're a smart chappy, we can analyze on the fly. As we flee, keep our eyes darting back and forth ahead of us, mentally assessing how the individuals in the crowd will be placed based on how they are moving when we see them, and plan a path through the resulting open spaces. It's just danmaku, except linear and with bigger and fewer bullets.
> Keep a calm look on our face at all times, as well. We got this.

>You dash into the crowd, doing your best to read it ahead of time. It is a little complicated by the fact that some of the oni in it stop to stare at you, but this can usually be compensated for. You dart through the open parts, doing your best to maneuver around the people in the way. ahead, you can see a sizable group that seems to be composed of a lot of oni going more or less in the same direction. You think there is a way way around it to the left side of the street, or perhaps you can work your way through it.
