Touhou Shinkirou ~ Hopeless Masquerade Tournament

Hey guys, who would be interested in a Hopeless Masquerade tournament? Since the English Patch just came out it would be great to test it out for both netplay and stability, as well as gauge some interest back into this game hopefully.

It will be a Double Elimination, FT2 tournament, with top 4/8 (depending on number of entrants) will be FT3. If we have enough interest I can separate the tournament into regions or player skill, but only if there's enough interest. Beginners are welcomed!

If you are interested, post here (or in the Challonge link below) what your skill level is and region (NA, SA, EU, etc) so I can try to pair people up with skill level and region to make things more even or even divide the tourney to skill levels so beginners don't have to be intimidated about it. (ie. Beginner is someone who just started playing and only know dail-a combos, intermediate is someone familiar with the game, knows some basic stun combos (or maybe even optimal at times) and are somewhat comfortable with a character or two, and expert is someone who knows how to land optimal combos from almost every situation, blockstrings, spacing, etc).

The date I'm planning to do a tournament is Sunday November 23rd, 2014 @ 1pm EST. If you guys agree to that date then say so. If not, suggestions for dates would be great so I can see what I can do about it.

Most HM players from NA, i know only Sitha and Xoxx (maybe Shimatora) from EU playing in HM. But EU-NA(SA/Asia) games so lags T__T

Unforunately my current PC can't handle streaming with Hopeless Masquerade but if someone else can do it that'd be great.

I haven't done anything for the English Patch. So no need to thank me, yet. I'll get to fix the translations when things settle down a bit on my side.
As for the shinkiroll project, still haven't found a capable and willing programmer to get it started already....  

As for the tourney, I'd love to participate, but you already know how laggy it is with me so I may or may not join.

Joined. I haven't played for a while but this will be a good chance for me to get back into the game.

My skill level might be around intermediate level and I'm an NA East player. I don't have any problems with the date.

I'll have to look into it, but I think I might be able to stream.  If not, it should be no problem for me to share my replay files.

I'm joining as well, as for my skill level....I'm not really sure, probably an intermediate though. For my region, I'm NA Midwest, specifically Minnesota. Though I'm curious since streaming has been mentioned, how does one go about streaming a 2 player netplay game? Also, what does FT3 and FT5 mean exactly?

FT3 = First to 3, FT5 = First to 5. Though I should actually change it to FT2 and FT3 respectively.

I've been waiting for something like this for quite a bit, but how's the participation on the SA-side?
It's not going to be much fun playing with Western people at 500ms, since my experiments on #shinkirou have shown that they have small tolerance for slow-motion.

I have no idea atm. There's quite a few participants now but I dunno how many are in SA as not many are telling me their regions (we're gonna have to figure it out once everyone settles in the IRC chat once the tournament is about to start)

Thank you to everyone who was able to join for the tournament! It was fun, despite some laggy slow matches and one match that had to be determined with a coin flip due to both players being unable to host even with Hamachi. That coin flip was the most hype however!
