>Dodge her attacks and attempt to use Cuddle Beams to pacify this clearly blood-crazed miko. She will attack humans no more!
[3] Right before you fire a beam of pink hearts at the clearly angered shrine maiden, she whacks you on your shoulder with her gohei, causing you to fire the beam towards the sky as you reel in pain.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?! YOU BETTER NOT BE STEALING ANYTHING!!!"
A hand reaches out from a gap in the air to grab Reimu's arm just before she plunges the gohei into your stomach. As you stare in bewilderment, a golden-haired woman in a fluffy dress steps through the gap.
"Oh, Reimu... Don't get too kill-happy, not all outsiders are going to break down the barrier, okay? Keep this up, and news will spread to the Gensokyoan humans."
"Sorry, Yukari... It's just that I almost caught the Watsuki girl before A GROUP OF OUTSIDERS took her away..."
"Then what are you doing here? Go! Chase after them!"
Yukari points at you and exclaims, "She's the least of your worries."
Your parasympathetic nervous system begins to take over, shifting bodily focus towards the cut across your left arm.
CAUTION: Mend the wound within 2 turns.>Attempt to shift back into humanoid form and follow, remaining close to Haruko, radiating heat to try to keep her warm.
>>If it doesn't work, just wait outside. I doubt a giant bird can effectively fit through a door.
>"If needed, I can stand guard. I don't think I need to be immediately present to offer faith. And you have as much as it takes to get her back and then some."/"I WILL GUARD...HEAL HER...FAITH...WHAT IT TAKES..." (depending on result of previous command)
>>Do so, unless told otherwise. In which case, keep guard up and aware in case of anything. Hopefully Reimu is far away...
[6] You concentrate as hard as you can in an effort to shift back into a humanoid body. It was most likely successful, because those nearby look at you with wide-open eyes as you undergo the transformation.
The interior of the Moriya Shrine stands in stark contrast to that of a certain other shrine. Electric light bulbs hang down from the ceiling, and a comfy leather sofa sits against the long edge of the wall. Kanako places Haruko on a wooden table in the center of the room and places her hand over the needle protruding from her stomach. Sanae returns with a cart, carrying several appliances that probably came from an outside-world emergency room. Before you even try to imagine where that came from, she looks towards you.
"You have a Yatagarasu contained within you, right? Can you help power these?"
She hands you a three-pronged plug leading to a metal box on the bottom half of the cart.
Faith +10 (total 27)Am I interrupting the riveting narrative transpiring here
# initialize player character
> Slowly and unnecessarily phase into existence over the course of multiple turns, arriving at a seemingly random location and unintentionally making a rather grand entrance
>> On completion (assuming the place of arrival was not occupied by solid mass): inspect inventory and surrounding area in confusion, and pick up nearest solid object and say "hello" to it - then break out of the confusion and realize that the experiment was a success
[3] You materialize in a bamboo forest that appears to be endless in all directions with a raging headache. Whatever you did to enter Gensokyo appears to have taken a toll on your stamina. In the confusion, you pick a sharp piece of bamboo off from the ground and attempt to hold a conversation with it before realizing that you cut your hand on it.
CAUTION: Mend the wound within 3 turns.Note from GM: No, you're not. It's always fun to see a new player jump in, especially in violent and emotional scenes like the one currently taking place. It gives me a chance to be humorous and funny with one group of players while being serious and grave with the other group.>Can't really mention that we died, now can we? I guess we have one option: make a partial lie.
"It's not going too badly, though partway through the forest, the lantern got blown out by a powerful gust of wind, and due to not knowing how the dirt path went, I had to attempt to backtrack here." Look at the stack of books. "So those magic tomes...are there any simpler ones to learn?"
[5](+1) "It's [...] here."
"Not knowing how the dirt path went? Didn't I tell you to just go east? Ahh, whatever. At least you came back alive."
About coming back alive..."So [...] learn?"
"Well, I guess I can teach you some basic magic. After all, ya can't survive past three nights in Gensokyo without spellcards, ze~"
Perhaps you didn't try doing so earlier, but magic is surprisingly easy to learn. Or at least the magic Marisa's teaching you, because within a short amount of time, you've learned how to conjure light around you, turn poisonous mushrooms into wholesomely nutricious ones, and most importantly, shoot small star-like projectiles from your fingers.
>"All right guys fill me in here. What the heck is going on, who is almost dead, why is there a glowing green bird instead of the usual unmatched sock, what is going on with Reimu, and most importantly WHY DID THE GREEN WOMAN MURDER ME FOR OFFERING TO TREAT HER TO LUNCH?"
>Share dream information with everyone at the shrine, save game, allocate available points into musician skill.
[2](+1) "All [...] LUNCH?"
Nobody seems to respond. Those around you look just as clueless as you do, and those that went inside the shrine are likely too preoccupied with the sudden incident to notice you. With nothing else to do, you spend the time improving your musical skills.
Musician skill +3 (total 13)>Follow the carnage. Tread carefully.
[3](+1) Now that Patorikku's gone, you observe the scene of the carnage in greater detail, all while making sure not to leave any confounding evidence. Bits and pieces of plastic and glass are strewn all over the general area, among which are two human bodies that lie in close proximity to each other. One of them is riddled with barb-tipped needles through the arm, exposing shattered bones. The other person appears to have died in a much cleaner fashion with a single, yet deep cut through the neck. Near the ruined bushes, deep footprints indicative of stomping are embedded in the dirt. Given all that, it's clear to you that whatever happened here was nothing less than a violent murder.
> Resurrect.
[2] Try again.
> The group in there seems to be busy, and you can't exactly offer any sort of help. Since you're now unarmed, you might as well try and fix that situation by making your own arms your arms! ... Hm wait a minute that sounds kinda dumb if you phrase it like that.
> In any case, start up a training montage and do unnecessary amounts of physical work-outs to make your body a suitable weapon!
[2] Your arms and legs ache with every beat of your heart as more-than-normal amounts of lactose coat the muscles. There's a lot less oxygen in the air when you're almost at the tip of the Youkai Mountain. As a result, intense cramps set in shortly after you begin your physical training session.
STRONGKEST NAP
>Fly off to the nearest point of relevance, combat-wise.
[4] Heads turn as you fly out through the window towards the Hakurei Shrine. Even though you're pretty far away, you notice NekoNekoRex holding her injured arm. In front of her, a golden-haired woman in a fluffy dress appears to be lecturing the shrine maiden.
>"Just let me know what needs to be done."
>>It seems most likely, they're going to try to pull off a miracle. All of the faith you can get, huh? Well, hopefully this can work...
[4] Kanako appears to be channeling spiritual energy at Haruko, and Sanae just asked an unmatched sock to help with powering a cart full of medical appliances. You're not the kind of person to just stand there in situations like this, so you declare your involvement.
"Just [...] done."
"Right now, all we can do is pray that she'll make it through this."
