Aw, crud.
>"I'm afraid that I can't afford such a room, unless I can pay the difference by doing menial labors?"
[4] "Well, I guess there are things you can do. Why don't you fill the lamps outside with more oil? After that, can you tidy up the lobby?"
> Sprint in a random direction using the boost of adrenaline to see where it takes me.
[6] You run along the forest road and find a patch of land with a small house built atop it. Light coming out the window tells you that there's soemone living there. As you approach, a girl in a witch outfit opens the door.
"Who's there? Are you lost?"
She motions at you to come in with her.
>Slowly get up. My back is better for an unknown reason, but I'm going to decide to not argue. "Spell, huh...elemental I guess would be one type of spell, but would there be other kinds too? It appears I really don't know much about this world."
[3] You stand up, which makes the sore more apparent.
"Spell [...] world."
"Hold on, I think there's someone outside!"
Marisa grabs a octagonal object inscribed with trigrams along with some cards, and slowly opens the door. There seems to be someone outside.
>"Yes, Haru, I would like to see those notes, if you would let me." Observe the notes. Might as well go in order. She can sit next to me if she wants while I read them, especially if they're not well written so she can explain them.
(As a note, I thought I was heading into the tunnel, are there bushes in the tunnel? I did say "sudden cave system" in my command.)
>Once the notes are read (or at least some of them), "It is rather late...perhaps we should rest for a while? Pat, feel free to wake me up to switch with you for guard duty."
[4]
You read the notes as Haru sits behind you.
=====[ MINOR.TXT ]=====
Gensokyo is home to many minor youkai, mostly spirits of the deceased. They are usually harmless unless provoked, although it's still recommended that you stay away from them since a few will hunt you down.
=====[ MYSTIA.TXT ]=====
A night-sparrow that runs a fried lamprey stand in the Bamboo Forest of the Lost. Depending on her mood, she can either be very friendly or extremely scary. I've seen her perched atop trees singing in a strange voice that seem to attract nearby birds.
=====[ RUMIA.TXT ]=====
Often seen as a ball of darkness that absorbs surrounding light. This is similar to a black hole, except that gravity doesn't seem to be affected by it. She usually minds her own business, unless she's hungry. In that case, try to lose her as soon as possible. Rumors say that she's much more malicious than she is, although I haven't personally confirmed that.
=====[ UNKNOWN.TXT ]=====
Sometimes at night, strange sounds may seem to emanate from unknown places. These are likely from nearby youkai, possibly those who can hide themselves from humans. It is advised that you do not travel alone at night, since it is not known as to whether they will attack. A young girl by the name of Akyuu has told me that most of them are largely unpredictable in their behavior.
=====[ YUKARI.TXT ]=====
She pops in out of nowhere, and leaves in the same way. I've seen her attacking lost humans a few times, usually appearing in front of them as they run, as well as dropping them into creepy-looking voids that appear and disappear at her whim. It's said that she has control over any and all borders. This is a terrifying power, which she doesn't hesitate to use against those who defy her.
=====[ YUUKA.TXT ]=====
A flower youkai that often tortures humans, both physically and mentally. From what I know, she lives in a hidden mansion and can often be found alone in a sunflower field to the northeast of Gensokyo. Needless to say, you will want to avoid her at all costs. Usually, this just means that you should stay away from that general location.
You also take note of the pictures accompanying the documents.
"He just wanted to help others. Why... Why did... she..."
Tears form in her eyes once again.
Note from GM: For clarification, you are hiding in the bushes a good distance away from the forest road. The tunnels are formed as a result of the uneven growth of branches.>"I'm sorry, what are you talking about?"
>Yeah, no, not going to reveal anything to her.
[3] The tip of a cold, sharp needle presses against your back, sending chills down your spine.
"I'll ask you one more time... Where. Are. They?"
>"Do you have anything to light it? Like matches or a fire-starter or something like that?
[2] "Erm... I don't think I have anything like that here. You're not planning on going outside and walking around tonight, are you?"
> Keep watch as intended. Not much to do right now but that, since you're oddly enough in the best shape.
> Actually, take a quick moment to check on your guns. You've used them once in an event that called for a lot of bullets, and there's a very good chance these guns don't run on infinite ammo.
[2](+1) You stay where you are and inspect the magazines in your guns. There's enough bullets left to fill the auto-loader to a forth of its capacity. After a while, you hear an unmatched sock's voice from behind.
"It is rather late...perhaps we should rest for a while? Pat, feel free to wake me up to switch with you for guard duty."
>Ugh. Fine, street performance. Gather impromptu crowd.
[6] As you set up a makeshift stage in the center of the village, people begin to gather in anticipation of your performance. It seems that the news has already spread, because the cheering and shouting intensifies as the crowd grows larger. You remember the times you and your friends went to see outdoors concerts at night in the city you came from, with flashing neon lights and gigantic crowds. This time, it's somewhat different. For starters, you're the one performing. It's also quite hard to overlook the fact that you're in a village that looks like something from centuries ago, and that youkai could fly in to tear your head off when you'd least expect it. Of course, none of that matters to you as you close your eyes and let the music blast the audience into euphoria. By the time you're done, it seems that several people threw coins at you.
