Hey everyone. Due to an incident happening in the Forest of Magic, the Bunbunmaru is going to hold off on the final batch for no later than a week. Sorry to keep you all hanging! This means that our gifting has come to a close - we cannot accept any more requests, but we really appreciate your enthusiasm. Warm thanks to all who participated!
Now, to reveal the methodology. Some of your guesses were pretty interesting, but in fairness, there's a couple methods that none of you would have been able to guess or figure out. So let's begin.
Name: Combination of your favorite anime director and the next song on your playlist. Some of you lacked sufficient power levels to have a favorite anime director, or had low power levels that reached for the same director several times, so we had to make do with whatever the song title or artist was.
Character Title: Your adjective describing the discovery of the Rosetta Stone, a synonym for your species, and your name for the magical land you woke up in. Our tengu staff were perplexed by how complicated the word "adjective" apparently was, as some of you opted to expound on the history of the Rosetta Stone. Adjectives are not hard, humans!
Species: As you chose it.
If you chose ZUNtastic Youkai: The first name of your favorite scientist was whisked away by tengu to the magical land of Google Image Search, along with the words "Bronx Zoo". The first animal to appear in the results was your ZUNtastic Youkai Species!
Ability: That would be the wildcard. As many of you chose the weather option over the physical activity (why ever could that be!), we had to get a little creative with this. Liberties were taken.
Age: Profile number x 100, as revealed earlier.
Occupation: This was where "a thing in your room" and "a number from 1 to 20" came into play. Whatever the thing was, we searched for this thing in the Jobs section of the London Craigslist. Then we counted the number of entries, from top to bottom, stopping on the number you gave. Now, the shopkeeper is the one who told me about Craigslist, as he once suggested I, of all people, visit this "web sight" to look for a new camera. So we didn't expect how many of the "jobs" advertised were of a ... less than savory nature. We had to take some pretty flexible interpretations of these jobs in order to assign you an occupation, to say the least!
Location: As you chose it.
Game Appearance: Random 1d18 dice roll.
Story: Compiling all this data together, a pattern would emerge to form a cohesive whole. A backstory would arise from this seemingly chaotic and disparate collection of points to create a fully formed OC, with the help of tengu magic.
Well, I hope you enjoyed this special reader participation feature of ours. The final batch will be posted in no more than a week's time. Fortunately, once people return to this thread and read it in one go, it will all look seamless and evenly spaced, as if there were no delays whatsoever. How lucky for us!
Thanks again for participating, every single one of you. You're all pretty nice folks - for humans!
CAW! CAW!
