Showing dialogue in replays
« on: September 07, 2014, 02:42:30 PM »
Most replays I've found have skipped the dialogues (or even if the dialogues aren't skipped during the run, the replay file fast forward them). I am wondering if there are any tools to make these dialogues display in a readable speed?

The replay itself doesn't fast forward them actually, it's always the player. If you JUST want to see the dialogues, you can head to TouhouWiki, and see the dialogues (they actually are better translated than the English patches).

If you want to see them ingame, you can actually play the game using the Skipgame patches, which is used for translation purposes, and skips everything but the dialogues. You'd have to re-pack it into a DAT file though, the site only provides the modified ECL files.

Actually the games do fast forward through dialogues. If you notice the player's orbs around them during dialogues that are not skipped by the player, their spin will be faster when watched through a replay. All replays do is run the replay a little faster when there's dialogue present, at least on the older games. (I forget if the newer games do this as well, I don't play them as much)

And if you didn't know already, to run through the dialogue really fast like a lot of people do, instead of pressing Z many times, hold down Ctrl.
I figured out how to play midi in games with a different device on Win7 ^^

Oh I forgot older games did that. MoF+ doesn't do it, for sure.
