>"Well you're the one that was talking to us, I was just answering..."
>Extricate self.

>You clamber out of the box along with Star and Luna, into what appears to be a small storage room, though the only things that seem to be stored here in addition to the box you were trapped in are some ladles, a teapot, kettles and a couple other odd cooking vessels that you can't identify. The bald man, still holding on to the metal bar with a crooked end that he used to free you, stands next to a young man who has a bit of stubble on his chin and very conspicuous eyebrows. Through the open sliding door, you see a gangly young man sitting on the floor reading a comic book in a slightly larger room. Judging by the items in this room, this seems more like a some kind of a tea house than a "karate club" to you.
>"So, uh, how'd yalls three even got caught? That's what I really wanna know."

>"We got hurt, and he caught us..."

>"So that's why it looks like you all got a real drubbing, huh.", says the bald man. "Now how'd you get hurt in the first place?"
>"We were just trying out this cart we found in a forest, when that guy jumped in front of us out of nowhere and we crashed into him. Then he hurt us again even though we already got hurt by the crash...", says Star.
>"Uhhh, a cart?" The bald man raises an eyebrow. "'Kay then, think I get now why that guy wanted you locked in a box. He coulda died if you hit him with a goddamn cart."
>"It wasn't a big cart, he didn't even get hurt like we did..." Star puts a finger to her chin in contemplation. "Well... maybe he did hurt his head. He was calling Sunny a doggy for some reason. And you need to hurt your head pretty bad if you think its okay to tie us up and put us in a box."
>"Uh-huh. Wait, what? You were tied up? In that box?"
>Star nods, while Luna reaches back in the box over its edge and pulls out the ropes and cloth blindfolds and gags to present them to the bald man. He and his friend both stare at your former constraints in disbelief.
>"Well then... Sorry, but now I kinda wanna know somethin' again."
>The bald man's gaze wanders for a while around the room, before he makes eye contact with you again with a sharp exhale.
>"Did that guy do something, uhhh... weird, to you?"

>"Eh, that's not quite what I was gettin' at there."
>"That's not weird enough already?", says Luna.
>"No, I mean, did he, uhhh..."
>While he tries to find the right words, the other man puts a hand on his shoulder.
>"Come on Miura, you don't need to worry about that. They're faeries, they'll be all right."
>"Well, yeah..." The bald man nods slowly, before shooting a nasty glare back at his friend. "... 'cept that's just a bad excuse for him to keep bein' fucked up in the head if he did somethin', if ya ask me."

> Grin smugly.
> "But I showed him. I broke his stupid stuff."

>You allow yourself to have a little smug grin - you did sort of manage to get back at that guy on the spot there before he knocked you out.
>"Huh? What stuff?", the bald man asks.

>You tell the men about the bags and summarize the last bits you recall of your struggle with the man in tan before you were knocked out cold. And you wince. That was the least fun you've had hitting your funny bone.
>"Sunny... and Luna." The bald man scratches his chin in thought. "Those names you got there?"

>"I'm Sunny Milk, she's Luna Child, and she's Star Sapphire. Who are you?"

>"Guess you ain't just any faeries after all." The bald man chuckles. "Well, I'm Miura, this is Koji, and that guy there's Kimura. And this place's the Verisimilitude Karate Club. And if my buddy right there really saw who he thought he saw, it looks like y'all ran into Tanioka. He's the guy who owns our house."
>Miura stares at the crooked metal rod in his hand for a moment, looking unsure why he's still holding on to it, before he props it against the opened crate with a shrug.
>"So what now? You want us to chase you out like you did somethin' or what?", Miura says, grinning.

>Miura tugs the open front of his kimono open a little more.
>"...but I'm getting real tired of all this waitin' around in this heat. So sure. Uh, so what do you get if you win..?"
>Miura scratches his temple with a slightly puzzled look.
>"Well, there's that teahouse next door. How's some candy sound if you win, eh?"

>"Ooh!" Star gasps in amazement. "I was thinking that maybe we should just go home, but that is a most splendid prize!"
>Miura laughs. "Gotta say, y--wait, where you goin'!"
>Forgetting in your excitement that you haven't actually been in a box for a while now, you vault over the edge of an imaginary box and dart into the bigger room where Kimura is sitting. You hear Miura immediately calling you back.
>"Oi, don't run yet! You gotta hear the rules first!"

>"'Do we really need to be running now while it's so awfully hot out there? We'll be exhausted and drenched before we've even warmed up for today's practise.", says Koji.
>"Come on Koji, you know how it is. You gotta get fresh air and all that. And hell, maybe we'll run into Tanioka out there so he can set us straight."
>Miura looks back to you.
>"All right. The rules. No flying. And we're gonna start from the porch. Got it?"

> "So are there any other dumb rules or can we just goooo!"

>"We'll allow them to fly?" Koji frowns. "How is that supposed to be fair?"
>"Only on ground. The red one's right, they ain't gonna be gettin' anywhere with those little faerie legs if we don't let 'em fly.", says Miura.
>"So they'll lose if they try to fly up and away? I guess that's a bit more fair..."
>Star giggles. "Oh, but we won't need to fly away to defeat you."
>You huff impatiently. This whole thing could use some starting already.
>Miura shakes head.
>"Got nothin' else. I'm gonna go to the porch now to slip in my shoes and get ready."
>After that, Miura walks out of the storage room into the larger room. Koji alternates looks between him and you for a moment, as if expecting you to go first for some reason, before following after him.
>"You're comin' too, Kimura. There's three of 'em to catch.", Miura says as he passes by the sitting and reading Kimura on his way out to the porch. Kimura stuffs his comic book into his field clothes with a sigh, then stands up and follows after Miura and Koji.
>Soon enough, the three men disappear behind the corner and presumably walk out to the porch of the building, leaving you in the storage room with Star and Luna.

> "Come on, guys! We gotta find ourselves a crowd!"

>Star giggles and claps happily with your hands before letting go.
>"Are you sure we will find a crowd? There's never any when I'm here...", says a cross-armed Luna. "Couldn't we just have Sunny make us invisible around a corner instead?"
>"Well, you only visit the village during the nights, don't you? It isn't a very good time to find crowds of humies.", Star says, "And if we just suddenly disappear behind a corner, then they might think we're cheating! That's why we should go un-visible in a crowd instead."
>"Isn't this cheating anyway...?"
>After a proclamation of Star's idea, you start heading out. You pass through the bigger room into the front porch of Verisimilitude Karate Club, where the three men await you, finally shodden.
>"Shouldn't one of us stay here? Akiyoshi-sensei may arrive before we've caught the faeries...", Kimura says.
>"Nah. He's not gonna get here before us. We're gonna catch 'em in no time with three of us.", says Miura. He sees you coming out of the corner of his eye and promptly turns to face you.
>"Alright, you're all here. 'Kay, see these gates over there?"
>Miura points towards the two gates up ahead, one of them in a wall straight ahead, and one in a wall to the right. You appear to be in a walled-in garden of sorts. You see the facade of a row-house across a street through the front gate, but you can't tell what's beyond the right gate due to the angle and height of the walls.
>"When one of you goes through one of these gates, we're gonna start chasin' you."

> Head over to the right gate and peek out of it to survey the situation. Don't go through it yet, though.

>You give your nods and reply, then leave to follow a path of stepping stones leading through the garden to the gate in the right wall.
>You lean around the gate to have a look around, and feel Star and Luna glue into your back as they attempt to do the same. Beyond the gate is another walled-in area, the yard of a solitary house to the right. A light blue, short, segmented curtain with indecipherable cursive calligraphy written on it hangs over its front doors. A gate in the wall opposite of the house leads out to the same street you saw through the other gate of the garden when you stood on the porch.
>"There's not too many paths to choose from here, is there?", says Star.
>"I think I've seen this place before...", Luna says.
