It's her fault for replying to a prank with violence rather than another prank. She broke the code.

>"Oh, right!"
>Undo that thing.

>Oh, right. You remember that you're still unvisible due to your ability. You revert the effect, and Reimu's eyes shifting from Star to you confirm that you're un-unvisible now.
>"Hold on.", says Reimu.
>Reimu walks back to the kitchen, returning with three bowls and teacups stacked on top of three plates on her right hand. There's just enough space on the upper plate for the three pairs of chopsticks resting on it. And on her other hand, Reimu's got a teapot. Reimu sets the dishes and utensils for herself, you and Star, then dusts a cushion at the side of kotatsu opposite of you, before sitting down on it.
>"Go ahead.", Reimu says. She rests her elbows against the kotatsu and supports her chin with her hands. Only just now you realize that she looks kinda tired. Faint dark rings surround her half-open eyes. If somebody were to suddenly swipe off those supporting arms from under Reimu's chin, you could imagine her head crashing down so hard that it would flip the kotatsu over.

>No time for that, there's breakfast!
>Get to work on that!

>It's an amusing thought, but indeed, there is a much more important matter at hand!
>You dig into the breakfast. The tamagoyaki is just plain egg, with some salt to add to the flavor. Not that it bothers you at all, since you like honest omelets. Naturally, the drink is green tea.

>Though a full mouth: "Thank you!"

>Reimu gives you a slightly revolted look as you thank her with your mouth filled with rice and omelet mushed together. "Uh. You really like it, don't you..."
>"So, did I tell you yet why I fetched you over here?", Reimu says, before guiding a bunch of steamed rice into her mouth with chopsticks.

>"It's an errand.", she says.

>Do we?

>Yes, you know that place. It's a shop in the Forest of Magic that sells miscellaneous items, ranging from antique to novelties from the outside world. You barely remember what happened the first and the last time you were there, it's been quite a while. You think you had found something with Star and Luna called a "fluorescent lamp", though you didn't know its name until you went to visit Kourindo and allowed the lone shopkeeper, who happens to be exceptional at appraising, to take a look at it. You probably tried to get help from Marisa first, who recommended you to visit the shop, which would explain how you even knew about Kourindo back then.

>Indication which condition is true with the proper head motions.

>You nod to Reimu to acknowledge that you know what a Kourindo is.
>"Oh! That place! Yeah, we went there... once?", says Star as she picks up another piece of tamagoyaki with chopsticks from the large serving plate.
>"Mm. Good. I'll give you the details once you're done with breakfast.", Reimu says, then takes a sip of tea. Even though she says that, she hasn't even gone through her own portion of breakfast yet.
>"But why you want us to do this job? Why not Suika, ooorrr... Marisa?", Star says.
>"Suika's not going anywhere until she's done her chores. Like fixing the floor she just impaled." Reimu pauses to yawn. "Marisa hasn't dropped by in a while. And I kinda don't expect her to pay a visit anytime soon, especially if this hot weather keeps on going."

>"I guess we can do it. We still need to find that drum youkai!"

>"Oh yeah, about that." Reimu lowers her teacup back on the tabletop and returns to resting her elbows against the kotatsu. "If you bump into Raiko but don't manage to persuade her, I guess you could ask her if she knows any other drum tsukumogami. I remember some rumors about her wanting to gather a tsukumogami society."
>Reimu glances away from you and tries to look thoughtful through her tired and listless expression.
>"Another youkai society, huh... I really should investigate that.", Reimu talks to herself.

>"Me too!", says Star.
>"That's the spirit.", Reimu says with a smile. Whoah. That's got to be the first time you've seen her smiling today.
>The shrine maiden picks up her chopsticks again and resumes eating at a sluggish pace.

>Widen eyes.
>"I bet you're cursed!"

>Star goes oooooh! after your accusation.
>"If this is a curse, then it's the most harmless one I've heard of.", says Reimu.
>"But yeah, something weird did happen last night. That weird thing is the reason I got that thing that needs to get identified, actually." Reimu lowers the clump of steamed rice, which she was about to shove into her mouth, back into the bowl, then looks to her side, towards a shelf. "Maybe I should just show it to you already."

>"If it's cursed, you should exercise it!"

>"Exercise...?" Reimu blinks. "You mean, exorcise?"
>Reimu makes a guttural hnnnngghhh noise as she stretches her arms.
>"If it turns out to be cursed, I'm just gonna exterminate it. No way I'm gonna bother exorcising something that doesn't look valuable or useful."

>"Yeah, let's see the cursed thing!"

>"Okay then.", says Reimu. She stands up, walks to the shelf she was eyeballing just a moment ago, then returns with a lidded box. She places it on the kotatsu and removes the lid.
>"Take a look."

>Dash over and look inside excitedly!

>You stand up and scurry with Star to the other side of the kotatsu to get a proper view inside the box.
>Inside the box is a pink, smooth cylindrical object.
>"...What the heck is that?", Star steals words right out of your mouth.
>"Try touching it.", Reimu says.

>Touch it!

>You give the object a long press with a finger. Its soft and smooth texture gives way to your finger, but as soon as you lift your finger off, the depression you created on the surface corrects itself and the object returns back to its firm cylindrical shape. What a weird material!
>"Hey, I wanna touch it too!", Star says and picks up the object from the box.
>"Hmm, it's fleshy and springy...", Star says as she rotates the squishy pink cylinder around and squeezes it with her hand. "Oh?"
>Star stops rotating the object. She stares at the other end of it with a raised eyebrow.
>"Oh hey, there's a hole here!", she says before sticking a finger in the pink object. Her expression becomes even more puzzled as she does so.
>"Wow, okay, this is weird." Star pulls her finger out of the mysterious object and then hands it over to you. "Try it, Sunny!"

>Look into the hole, then point the hole away from us and squeeze the thing hard.  Then if nothing happens, look into the hole and squeeze it.

>Looking into the hole, you see ridges and bumps further inside this thing. You point it away from yourself and squeeze it as hard as you can, but nothing special happens, it only deforms then promptly recovers back to its original shape. You squeeze it again while looking into the hole this time, but this yields the same results.
>"I don't get it! What's the point of all that stuff inside? It's like somebody made a reverse sculpture or something out of this really weird material.", Star thinks aloud.
>"Uh... What were you trying to do?", Reimu asks you, staring at you a little confused.

>"Seeing if it did anything when you squeezed it good!"

>"Hm." Reimu slaps herself in the forehead. "Oh, right. The story."
>She grabs up her teacup and sips.
>"I kept waking up all the time last night. One of the times I woke up, I noticed that this box...", Reimu points at the opened box on the kotatsu, "...had appeared by the side of my futon. I knew it could be a faerie prank, but I risked it, got up and went over to open the box and found that thing inside it."
>"Sooo, maybe it's a gift from somebody? A really weird gift.", Star says.
>"Gift?" Reimu lets out a deep sigh. "Yeah... I'm afraid it's a 'gift' from my 'friend'."
>"Huh? Like who? You don't like gifts?", Star asks.
>Reimu takes a big gulp from her cup to finish off the tea. The cup makes a loud knock noise as Reimu brings it back down on the kotatsu.
>"Okay. Let me ask something. Have you two ever come across a scary lady with an umbrella?"
