The first is indeed the number of fleets you have and the second is how many girls you have.

For anyone who is planning to play Normal or Hard Difficulty level.... the staff advise you to have take a great amount of preparation in order to be successful for this part of the event!

Without a doubt, I'm choosing Easy. Seeing as I have nearly 30 shipgirls trained to around Level 40, I would hope this is enough to balance fleet locking... but that does not change the fact I'm still worried at how this can potentially backfire on me. It's quite strange. I'm nervous because this is essentially my first event, and yet I'm also very excited.

This is a kick in the ass for admirals with a heavy FAVORITISM play style, who have a strong first string and no second string.

Admirals such as myself.

I guess I'll find out which maps drop rabbit and try to beat those.

Bleh, if carriers are required in multiple maps and it's fleet locked, I might not last past Easy :x I only have 2 standard carriers above lv1, and Hiryuu's plane slots are pretty awkward for being the only non-aviation carrier in the fleet ;_; Here's hoping my main ships are good enough to still get artillery spotting even when the CVs and BBVs get split up due to fleet locking.

Also, 50 buckets. Yep, I'm gonna need to be hella lucky to go any further than Easy, I think.

Ok it's time to reveal some new notes regarding this event, it's going to be one fun session to anyone who goes beyond easy difficulty.

There will be new rules set for difficulty settings this time around:

If you start off on playing Hard mode and then from the second map move on to easy mode, you will not be able to go back to hard mode again till you have climb the difficulty slope through each consecutive map.

So in other words:

Easy -> Normal -> Hard (is acceptable to getting back to hard mode if you play these difficulties through the 3 consecutive maps)

Easy -> Easy -> Hard (is not acceptable to get back to hard mode if you play these difficulties through the 3 consecutive maps)

Rewards ships will be the same regardless of difficulty level, but drops, experience and so forth will be different.

You will have 20 days to play the event. So don't jump in right away, plan, prepare and train your girls so they'll be more combat ready as this will be key to winning the event!

And also besides the foreign BB that'll appear in the event, we will also be getting a new Aircraft Carrier among the team to collect!

It seems pretty interesting, a nice way to fix the issue of some admirals doing the whole thing in easy then do the last map on hard for that medal.

It doesn't fix that issue of map switch spamming on one map for people to grind rares on non-final boss kills.

N- well you know what I didn't stockpile all of my resources and tried to gun for two Kai Nis for nothing so, I'm just gonna suck it up and do Easy Mode all the way because I already got the necessary ships ready, also Maya might be my next future Kai Ni after possibly Kongou or Fubuki.

So, let me get this straight... You can't just change the difficulty of the maps willy nilly when going through them, and you can't use the same fleet for the entire sequence of maps, but instead have to change it up from map to map...

Well, this just got very interesting. Let's hope there's no Battleship Hime blockades for those grand admirals to overcome on their quests for the latest ship girls... or hurricane nodes that sap your resources, or the compass girl being a troll...Yeah, this is going to be quite the show to watch others deal with. Here's hoping you all succeed.

Also regarding the titles of the first four stage, they translate as follows:

E-1: Preparation for Operation No.11
E-2: Second Curry Ocean Operation
E-3: Bagel Bay Transport Destruction Battle
E-4: Final Battle! Ri Lanka Island Invasion

From the look of this, I get the impression at least 1-2 of these maps will involve taking out an installation type boss. So I would highly recommend having your Type 3 ammo and WG 42s ready. They will be key for taking down bosses like that.

Also less than 2 days to go... Many also speculate that this event might span to 7 maps big... which if so, would be scary.....

Giving us another BB on top of the confirmed prizes is making me a bit apprehensive, especially considering I'll probably be pretty busy next month. If there is indeed Fleet Locking, I really wish they'd just make the event last for all of May. I'm not so much worried about not having enough ships, but rather that information about maps is going to come more slowly if people can't experiment with them freely.
I'll probably gather resources for a few days into the event and then get a new API so I can start it. Waiting for information is one thing, but events usually come with a bug or two as of late. I guess it's a bit of a blessing in disguise since a bug means we get a few extra days too.

More news on the prizes:

1 of the overseas BB is the main operation's final map reward. Carrier is reward in the middle of the main operation. No confirmation on where the other Italian BB is gonna be at.

2. Fleet Locking is confirmed for E-3 and E-4. HOWEVER if you play on easy mode: Fleet locking will not exists at all!

3. The Carrier ship girl will be given out as a prize for those who complete the Early part of the main operation half way. The forgien ship girl will however be a reward for those who beat the main part of the event.

4. They want to encourage new admirals to play on easy mode as it'll be a good opportunity to win rare ships from the first two maps +the new carrier girl and some items will be given out as prizes for E-1 and E-2.

5. Upon beating the main part of the operation, you will gain access to the "extra operation" the extra operation will consist of two stages. For the final stage, you will have full access to your entire fleet.

6. The Maintenance is scheduled for 11:00 and will last till 19:00 assuming there is no delay.

So basiclly we know that....

This event will have fleet locking... but it's only available for players who play on normal or higher.

Except combined fleets for some maps!

The Aircraft Carrier shipgirl is an early prize in the event, and the Battleship girl will be won from the later potions of the event.

It is likely to have 6 stages... (in before a 7th stage)

LOL if there's a stage 7 I'm going to scream because I'm already preparing things as it is... also I might try and level Fubuki for another means of AA cut-in since I already have a AAFD, but not a good enough AA-cut in even though Maya can do it, also Totaku what time will the first stream be for the event?

After I learned fleet locking was going to be a thing in normal mode, I spent 24 hours over the weekend training ships without FAVORITISM. Working primarily in 4-3 (the Sri Lanka / Ceylon stage, appropriately enough), I got 20 shipgirls up to "third string".

Starters (Level 70+): 11 ships (2 CVL, 2 CV, 2 DD, 2 FBB, 2 CAV, 1 CL)
Bench (Level 50-69): 17 ships (1 CVL, 4 DD, 2 FBB, 1 BBV, 1 CAV, 3 CL, 5 SS)
Third String (Level 30-49): 20 ships (2 CVL, 2 CV, 6DD, 2BB, 1BBV, 2CL, 2CLT, 2CA, 1SS)

The third string includes Nagato, Mutsu, Kaga, Soryu, Kitakami, and Ooi - ships that are known to be strong, but who I've never bothered to train in the past.

I also managed to do this training while keeping my resources up (63k fuel/ammo/steel; 55k bauxite; 666 buckets).

Of course, one weekend can't undo 4 months of FAVORITISM. I don't have strong CAs anymore now that Tone and Chikuma have converted to CAVs. The two CAs in the third string (Maya and Furutaka) might not be enough. And there's a 30-level gap between my starter CVs and their backups.

Since I was in 4-3 anyway, I decided to pay a visit to the boss with Ryujo and my third string CAs, getting the Futon Furniture. Now I have a bed I can share with RJ. (LOL)

E-1 and E-2 should be doable on normal if they have the same difficulty as Winter 2015's E-1 and E-2, which I cleared on normal. My hope is that the third string is able to take on E-3 on normal. The E-3 ships will then be locked, but I'll still have the starters and the bench to take on the combined fleet map of E-4, also on normal.

Then, with the main part of the event cleared on normal, I'll chicken out and do the extra operations on easy mode. That way I can use my locked ships from E-3 and E-4 in the extra operations without restriction.

So that's the plan. The time has come to see how strong my fleet has truly become.
