Kancolle Kai 2 : The 11th Operation has begun!

Hm... I haven't taken a crack at 1-5 yet this month due to wanting to stockpile for the event, so would it be viable for me beat 1-5 and then move onto 1-6? As in, would I end up with resources gained? Or should I just keep going with what I've been doing and wait until I'm done with the event?

I cleared 1-5 and 2-5 in the past two days (HQ level: 95). It took 8 sorties to clear 1-5, and 4 to clear 2-5 (a combination of being lucky, and my 2-5 team benefiting from FAVORITISM). The resource cost was about 2000 fuel all together, if you include repairs.

I'm going to try 1-6 with my 3-5 south route team (1CL / 5 DD). If I can net 1000 fuel from clearing 1-6, I won't be able to make up the loss from 1-5 and 2-5, but I can at least make the loss less painful.

As for 3-5 itself... well, in theory, if you take the south route and it only takes 8 sorties to clear 3-5, it isn't such a resource sink. But 3-5 is hard, and I took more than 8 sorties the last time I cleared it.

Considering what I experienced in my runs, I would say you should probably do 1-5 when you can before the event and take on 1-6 once you complete 1-5. The resource gain proved to be benifical when I calculated it out.

From my runs I got... 300 fuel, 300 ammo, 100 bauxite, 300 ammo, 100 bauxite, 300 ammo and 1000 fuel. (Since each run on that map took about 60 fuel ammo 80 ammo roughly not including repairs(this is assuming all runs are with 5 DDs and 1 CL to go the shortest ) The main resource I came out on top with was fuel. Fuel improved a whole lot (880+ fuel) while ammo didn't really improve much (+340 ammo). And I got a small gain in bauxite. (+200 ammo).

Since what you win on that map when you clear it is random just keep in mind that you'll likely make a gain in one thing majorly and either make a small gain in a few others and possible a small loss. That's about it.

I forgot to answer this, but from what I gathered, for this map, the HQ level doesn't change this map too much... It actually only changes 1 thing on the map, and it's from a route you want to avoid if possible while maintaining resources. The top most one when returning to base. (It's a rather dangerous carrier node that can have a Wo that could range from flagship, Takoyaki, or Flagship Kai.

All other node maintain thier original enemy compositions. So you won't need to worry about that.


Well the devs have finally dropped the bomb!

First we learn that for the next maintainance, we are expecting a pre-special class type DD to get her Kai Ni.

This of course means it's going to be the Mutsuki class

But here's the hint.... they mention that this particular Destroyer crossed the Pacific Ocean..... which on of these destoyers did this?

Seriously... I really don't know! No information mentions about any of the Mutsuki classes crossing the Pacific Ocean.... so I'm kinda clueless on who it is.... I'm still leaning to that "leak" but I'm not sure....

Also the next maintainance is set for the 23rd of April... the anniversary of Kancolle's debut!

This will also mark the day the event will be lauched!!!

To make matters more interesting they made it offical the the length of this event will be a long one....

This means the event will likely be 5-6 stages long... at this moment we still do not know what the event will be based on but I still look to that strange tweet the mentioned a historic refference and the event at the same time....

If they mention Operation C then we know it's going to be Indian Ocean Raid like I am perdicting it'll be.

You better have your type 3 ammo, carriers, and AA gear ready... you're going to likely need it... and considering how big this event might be.... You better have a decent amount of resources ready... we're going to need it.

We have 11 days before the event begins... get to stocking up and preparing your Kanmusus!

My body is ready! ...A-At least, I'd like to think it is. I don't feel confident enough to tackle Normal at this point, so Easy will have to do for now. With resources above 22k and nearly 160 Instant Repairs, I'd like to think I have a chance at this... ^^;

Luckily, my plea (complaint, rather) for Aircraft Carriers has given me Kaga in the form of a 2-3 Boss Node drop, so aside from training her to remodel level, I suppose I should attempt acquiring more powerful planes, and hopefully crafting another Type 3 Shell...

Cleared 3-5 in 14 sorties, with the usual south route team - 1CL / 5DD, levels ranging from 59 to 89. A bit costly, but I had to get that third monthly medal before the beginning of the event, for Chikuma's blueprint.

Another thing I wanted to get before the event was the Headquarters Personnel upgrade, which increases (by 1) the number of quests you can have active at the same time.

That's when I found out that the Headquarters Personnel quest requires a quest that requires a quest...

...that requires Uzuki.

Of course.

Freakin' rabbit. It had to be her.

So despite my promises to stop all the 3-3 runs and save up for the event, I found myself assembling my carrier task force and running 3-3 until the "Defeat 5 bosses in World 3" weekly quest was complete, hoping that some rare destroyers would appear. 3-3 costs about 3 buckets and 300 fuel per sortie if you grind it continuously. Before I knew it, I had been knocked down to 40k fuel and 530 buckets.

I got my second Yukikaze, my second Yayoi, my fourth Hamakaze, and my fifth Maikaze. HQ reached Level 96. RJ reached Level 98.

No rabbits.

I got 3 "screw you's" for completing the weekly quest.

Screw this game.

The damage has already been done but you could have waited for the event maps themselves to drop Uzuki. The headquarters thing doesn't affect much tbh. You must let go of your earthly tether and fake out the Desire Sensor. Only then will you be showered with rabbits.

I don't have as much steel or bauxite, but my resource amounts resemble yours. No idea whether it'll be enough, but it's certainly much more than what I had before the previous event.

Anyone else thinks that the new foriegn ship could be the Akizuki-class Harutsuki? She, like Hibiki, was transferred to the Russian navy after WW2, and since this is a spring event, it might make sense to introduce a character with spring in her name for it.

World 1 is known as the "Naval Base Waters" when translated. So therefore, it's going to be  1-6 map without a doubt.

Now the question is... what will the theme of this map be? It could be a tougher variation of a regular version of the surface assault maps.

If anything, I could see it being close to 2-4 difficulty level.... also what kind of kanmusus will they give out as prizes?

My bets are some of the more simple, but harder to find kanmusus such as Harusame, and Tokitsukaze (who knows.. possibly Ooyodo?) seem like ideal candidates to pull into a map like that. Since they would likely be rare, but rewarded for those who take the effort to hunt them down.

After being derailed by 3-5 and a ridiculous number of rabbit hunts, I finally decided to tackle 1-6. Before the map had been revealed, Grand Admiral Totaku had guessed that the map would be like 2-4. Surely by now we know how wrong he was. Instead of a resource-draining capital ship battle, 1-6 turned out to be a wonderfully friendly map that increases your resources.

My 3-5 team (L78 Sendai, L91 Fubuki, L65 Makigumo, L63 Shigure, L62 Yudachi, L61 Hatsuharu) breezed through it without incident. The submarine node was such a joke, I didn't even equip any anti-sub gear. The double air strike node was much more dangerous, but I was able to pass it consistently with Fubuki as my only anti-air cut-in defense. I'm guessing if you have Hatsushimo and Akizuki, that node becomes a joke as well. And while the surface battle node can knock one of your ships to red, there's no need to go home because there aren't any more battles left after it.

Over the course of depleting the resource bar, I got two 1000 fuel boosts and one 500 fuel boost from reaching the anchor node. That would have been a net gain if I had just beaten 1-5 instead of going on rabbit hunts. The reward of ranking points also boosted my rank from Vice-Admiral to Admiral, putting me in the top 5% of my server (Truk Anchorage, appropriately enough). The rank is way too low to earn any rewards, but I see it as a sign that I'm no longer a beginner.

So yeah, if you haven't beaten 1-6 yet, I definitely recommend it. It's both easy and profitable.

The Grand Admiral was right about one thing, though...



What's up with all these rare drops that aren't rabbit? I mean, I love Oyodo and will definitely be training her a lot, but you know I would trade her in a second for Uzuki.

Sometimes I wonder whether the game knows that too.

I've been rather busy over the last few weeks so I haven't been to actives but I will go ahead and being up a few things:

1. A new wiki has been formed!

Recently, several key community members, several tech members from the Touhou wiki crew and several members from the wikia along with a few other members from 4chan, and I have launched a new Kancolle wiki not too long. The idea behind this wiki is that we're trying to work on getting more promising translations done, more accurate information, and a much cleaner and less confusing environment for viewing information along with allowing people who work on the wiki to have more freedom on how the put up content!

So in other words, we're trying to work on an informative wiki that'll be easier to look through for information. We're also even considering expanding into a section doujin works much like how Touhou wiki does!

Keep in mind everything is still WIP ATM. But if you wish to lend your hand to this project, it would be most appreciated.

2. Regarding information on the 11th Operations

First off, the event is set for the 28th, but it's also not set in stone, there's a small chance it may be pushed back. Keep that in mind.

But I do want to take the liberty to let you know that me and the team did dig up information on the 11th Operation and this whole operation go a WHOLE LOT FURTHER compared than just Operation C.

Basiclly, Operation 11 was not intended to just push back the British Naval forces, it was intended to actually surround the BRN with other members of the Axis Navy and eliminate them all together thus crippling the Allied forces. However to put it in the simplest of terms, this operation got opted out simply because Japan wanted to turn it's attention to capturing an Island in the middle of the Pacific... Midway

So based on this, the event is probably going to be.... 1/2 historic (based partially on the Indian Ocean Raid) and 1/2 What-If (Focusing on Operation 11)

I will say that I heavily recommend using the wiki since it's cleaner and you don't have to worry about ads, and it's much better for the wiki developers since they aren't as restricted as they are on the wiki.

But since a lot of the stuff were migrated, there is still going to be some minor errors in format and all, so please help them out if you spot anything.

I do like that there are no ads on the new wiki. I also miss the comments that appeared at the bottom of pages on the old wiki, but that's a minor complaint. The new wiki is cleaner and faster, and that matters more.

I just noticed that on the Drop List page, Uzuki is stated to drop from the 3-3 boss node. The World 3 page also lists Uzuki as a 3-3 drop. But on the Construction page, 3-3 is not listed as one of the locations that drops Uzuki. The first and second Japanese drop lists also do not show Uzuki dropping from 3-3.

I am going to flip like a coin if Uzuki does not actually drop from 3-3. That would mean that my 100+ rabbit hunts were all for nothing. I got nothing from 3-3 but experience points, Yayoi, Soryu, Kaga, Maikaze, Hamakaze, Yukikaze, Mutsu, 100k furniture coins, Hishimochis (and Skilled Lookouts), and a bunch of Screw Yous.

I might need to train more then, although Mutsu seems to be leveling fast and Junyou only has 6 more levels until Kai Ni.
