Kancolle Kai 2 : The 11th Operation has begun!

While we are all busy training Kanmusus and grinding resources, here's some news that's popped up regarding Kanmusus getting Kai 2s.

1.A Special Type Destoyer will be getting a Kai Ni at some point during the winter season.

2. Some CA sisters ships will also be getting a Kai Ni.

Oh man, please let it be the Akatsuki girls.

Also, I'd like to think that Nachi and Ashigara will be getting their Kai Ni as well, but at the same time I feel like the Takao-class is long overdue.

Most people are predicting Fubuki because of the anime release literally coming next month, but yes I'd LOVE to see another one of the Akatsuki sisters to get a Kai Ni upgrade.

Well you're all in luck with the recent tweet. We can now confirm that the DD to get the Kai Ni will be from the Fubuki-class Type 1 Catagory!
(Note: The Fubuki Class was divided up into 3 groups: Fubuki-Class (Type 1), Ayanami-Class (Type 2), and Akatsuki-class(Type 3) )

With that our candidates are tallied down to:

Fubuki, Shirayuki, Miyuki, Hatsuyuki, Marukumo, and Isonami.

O all these, I see two of them that a big candidates. But only one will likely get it due to the upcoming anime that's less than a month away from debuting.

I really hope that instead of Fubuki getting a Kai Ni now, it would be some sort of Starters Kai Ni update maybe when the anime start, end or maybe corresponding with some event in the anime. I feel like they won't give an anime related Kai Ni until it actually starts airing or right before and they also won't make one starter have a kai ni without giving the others a kai ni at the around the same period.

As long as Nachi, Ashigara, Takao, and/or Atago get a Kai Ni, I'm good.  I can see Fubuki getting the Kai Ni because of the anime coming up (and because she was kinda sorta supposed to be the main character of the game) but I could also see them giving her an anime portrait for a short while, like how Naka got the Santa outfit.

Christmas time is almost here and for the month of December, the old tradition will return!



Yeah that's what, Santa Naka will return! Along with Kanmusus to get some new limited Christmas dialogue! But how can they make it better?

Simple! Shigure Kai Ni, Ryuujou Kai Ni, and Naka Kai Ni will also have new Christmas themed sprites! So get ready to share in a wonderful Christmas themed update along with Shirayuki and Hatsuyuki getting some new dialogue.

This'll all happen on the 12th BTW.

Obviously this is one of the few cases where there's not going to be a Kai 2 update. All we know is the the Fubuki-class DD and CA sisters will be coming this winter.

Just for you info this isn't the last time an update went kai ni-less. n fact last year right around Christmas, they didn't do any Kai Nis for over the session of 6 weeks (3 updates). (one was to implement Christmas Naka, another was the Arpeggio event, and the third was to add voices.)

So don't be surprised if we're entering a "dry session" it happen last year and and it may happen again.

Anyways while we wait.... let's get into the Christmas spirit!

Time for me to deliver the Chirstmas update on a separate post: So as for now we have a lot of Chirstmas related things for this update! Here's what is in store for us this update!

1. Xmas limited art

Xmas Naka from last year is making a comeback
In addition, Xmas Naka Kai2 will also be implemented

2. Xmas limited art part 2
This year Ryujo will also have new Xmas art
Ryujo Kai2 will also have a special Xmas themed costume and rigging

3. Xmas limited art part 3

In addition, Xmas Shigure Kai2, and Xmas Sazanami will be availabale
Xmas Naka, Ryujo, and Sazanami will have the new art even as a fresh ship.
Enjoy the limited time costume and rigging

4. Shirayuki, Hatsuyuki, and Miyuki new voices

Shirayuki Kai, Hatsuyuki Kai and Miyuki Kai will now have new voices
Resupply, Idle, combat, wedding (kari) will be implemented

5. Fubuki new voices implemented

Fubuki Kai will have Xmas limited time voices in addition to new resupply and idle

06. Approximately 20 kanmusu will get limited time Xmas voices

Including Hyuga, Hiryu, Murakumo, Hamakaze, and Prinz Eugen will get new Xmas voices
Naka, Nagato, and Kiso will have them this year as well

7. Xmas limited time art

Mamiya and Irako will now have limited time Xmas art.
They can be seen on the confirmation screen when they are used.
* Their effects will not change!

8. New BGM 'Winter Fleet' implemented

The new BGM will play in various areas centered on the Northern waters.
It will also be available in the Jukebox and available to be set as your HQ BGM.

9. Addition to Akashi's Workshop

With the assistance of a certain kanmusu, the 15.5cm triple main gun can now be upgraded

10. Xmas limited time Abyssal ship implemented.

The Abyssal ship, Hoppo Seiki found in the deepest parts of the Northern Waters will now have an Xmas limited art
Defeating her during the Xmas season will randomly drop a box...

11. Display bugs have been fixed.

- Display of effects during Aerial support has been fixed
- Certain kanmusu damaged art in the shipdex has been fixed

12. Xmas limited time presents

When a certain abyssal fleet is defeated, they may drop a present box
When you open the box, you will have the choice of resources, sweets, or materials

13. Xmas present box, additional info

The present boxes can be received from more abyssal fleets as you go deeper into the areas
Certain early maps will also drop them as well.
S rank victories will greatly increase your chances of getting one
The drop rate of the boxes will differ with the enemy fleet

Welp, looks like we'll be doing Chirstmas gift hunting so we can kinda consider this.... a mini special event of sorts? It's not a standard event since it's just a special Chirstmas themed event, but I'm personally curious what we can rake in from the presents so I'm willing to take a shot at hunting down ships for the presents. Alright, I'm going to post some info on a something I'm doing ATM. I know some of you are fans here and I think it's time I gave out some DMM points for sticking with me so long with Kancolle both within the stream and this topic. So I'm holding a little contest of my own over the duration of the Chirstmas. This can give you the opportunity to earn DMM points which you can use to get extra docking space or more wedding rings. So let me go over the rules:

It's been a year since I started streaming Kancolle once a week every week through the year and I think it's about I give back to some of you all with something special I announced on this stream.

Since Christmas is the time for giving, I think it's time I give a few people a lucky opportunity to get some DMM points that they can use to expand their base or get something for the Kanmusu they love or so forth!

So starting today, I will give two people a chance to win from webmoney to use for their DMM points.

All you need to do is this....

Guess how many presents I will obtain by the end of Chirstmas Day (December 25th)!

Yup, it's that's simple, all you need to do is make a guess and if you win, you could score from web money to use on DMM to purchase DMM point to do whatever you wish with you Kanmusu's and your home base.

As proof, I require that when you send me a photo of your HQ base as proof you're a player and provide me a guess on how many presents you think I will get by December 25th at 11:59 PM.

You will only be allowed one guess so choose wisely.

You will have until the 19th of December at 11:59 PM to provide me a guess.

There will be a main prize for 2000 yen of Webmoney to use for DMM for the player who makes the guessed closest without going over. In the event of tie, the participant who guessed the earliest will get the prize.

 The 26th of December will mark the end of the Christmas themed mini event! Kanmusus that have thier Chirstmas themed clothes will be added to your Kantai Dictionary after maintenance is over. They will return to thier normal clothes after the maintenance.

The Christmas Present drops will also stop dropping at that point!

However your presents you collected in your inventory will carry over after maintenance. (This is especially good for me and the contest)

Also a certain CA Sister will get a Kai 2.

The Special Type 1 DD will get her upgrade sometime in the winter.

So according to the wiki, Ashigara is the CA grabbing a Kai-Ni soon, meaning that Nachi will probably get one eventually as well.

It's time to cover the new year's update, today we got our filling to keep us busy over the next few weeks. And it looks like it'll be quite an amusing set up.

01. Heavy Cruiser Ashigara kai2 implemented
CA Ashigara can now be further refitted at a high experience level
* Blueprints will not be needed
 

02. Heavy Cruiser Ashigara new voices implemented
Ashigara Kai2 will now have new HQ voices and Battle voices

 

03. Destroyers Oboro, Sazanami, Wakaba new voices implemented
Oboro Kai, Sazanami Kai, and Wakaba Kai now have new resupply, idle, wedding (kari), HQ, and battle voices.

 

04. New Missions added
- Set up a light surface counterattack force
- Sortie the counterattack force
* Each mission will require triggers to unlock and accept

 

05. New Years furniture
The following furniture have been added
Shimenawa Decoration (new)
Toshikoshi soba (new)
Chinjufu New Year's set (Costs many coins)

10. End of Year voices
Some kanmusu will have limited time voices until the new year
When the new year starts, about 30 kanmusu will have new years limited time voices.

 

11. New Kanmusu Implemented
After today's update, the Asashio class Destroyer Yamagumo will be implemented
Yamagumo kai will have hourly voices.  Stay tuned!

12. Meeting the new kanmusu Yamagumo

Yamagumo can be found in certain late maps after defeating the enemy boss fleet.
Your chances of meeting her will be higher in more difficult stages
Until the new year's first maintenance, she will also be available in earlier maps as well.

As promised, I will announce the final results of the Chirstmas prize giveaway! After playing for two weeks and constantly beating up Hoppo-chan over the duration....

I managed obtained.....6 Chirstmas presents....

So as promised I've giving prizes to the participants who guessed the answer correctly.

Turns out basing my prediction off the amount of presents I managed to get in a single day and the only day I bothered to go after them does not account for the fact that RNG is a bitch. Though I never would have expected that in 2 weeks, you received less that double the presents I got off that single day which was 4. What have you done to anger the rng gods so drastically?
