ICO & Shadow of the Colossus

I've been playing ICO for the past 2 weeks and yesterday i finally got my Platinum trophy, and jumped right into SotC.....
As everyone told me before, the 2 games are simple yet AMAZING! Immense kudos to Team ICO for these 2 masterpieces.

After just 1 hour of playing SotC i'm already stunned by the world and the details put into it (and the choice to have the camera behind you but slightly at the side while riding is a stroke of genius.... it looks like you are watching a movie instead of simply riding forward! *_*).....

although I wish i had a camera recording my face when i saw the first Colossus.... i reckon it would have been hilarious : i knew the game required you to climb onto the Colossi to defeat them so they had to be huge, but it really doesn't click just how big they are until you see that goddddamm GIGANTIG HOOF STOMPING INTO THE GROUND FOR THE FIRST TIME!
I actually yelled the italian equivalent of "HOLY CRAP!" out loud XDDD  Thanks God there was no one at home atm

Then i remembered that the first Colossus's size is AVERAGE among them and i was getting even more hyped.....

Then the actual fight got me SUPER pumped (expecially with the "victory is near" bgm that start when you bring him to his knees)....

.....and then i finally defeated it and watched him die with THAT music going on, and realized he was simply defending himself from me.....


First time i feel like an a$$hole for defeating a boss....  :fail:

The only way to go on is to emotionally separate the 2 parts: enjoy to the max the epic fights and when you calm down sadly admit "i'm the monster here...."

I really have to play SotC more than the first couple of bosses one of these days. :blush:

ICO is one of my favorite games, even if it can be annoying sometimes (graveyard is one of the worst areas in the game). My favorite scene from the game is

the final battle with the shadow creatures, where you realize they're really all of the previous horned boys sacrificed to the queen

. First time I encountered that as a kid I seriously think I teared up a little.

Last I played I was about halfway through a 4-hr trophy attempt after beating it normally a couple of times. I can't explain why I love this game so much; it's very rare for me to replay a game after beating it once. I love puzzle games and the castle basically being one continuous dungeon just clicks with me I guess. Honestly I can see myself one-day going for a 3-hr (or even a 2-hr) run one day.

While i agree that the graveyard is nasty i have 2 words for you: PISTON JUMP (immediately followed by WATERMILL JUMP)  :matsuriscowl:

Honestly I can see myself one-day going for a 3-hr (or even a 2-hr) run one day.

The 2-hours achievement is EVIL, i followed a videoguide on Youtube and thanks god finished at 1.52 on my first attempt.... but i lost count of the amount of times i had to reload a save file because Yorda was being retarded/the Shadows were being retarded/i screwed something up.... >.<

Really I don't mind piston jump too much anymore because of a trick I found on a guide (I think on Youtube) but I hated both of those jumps my first play through.  Graveyard and watermill suck regardless of playthrough because one mistake and you find yourself running back and forth and back and forth and...

Yeah I will finish my 4-hr run and then see from there where I want to go. 3 hours I can see myself doing; 2 hour would just be me trying to go super-serious which I admit is something I basically never do.
