So I told my sister to get this game to play while waiting for her sprinkle points or whatever to regenerate in Kwazy Cupcakes Candy Crush, after more rerolling in the background of other things yesterday than I care to admit to, I scored a Pandora as she wanted something cute and no, Fairlio is cute but don't start with a Caterpie please.  Is that a good starter or should I try and hunt down something else?

pandora is really desirable at the later points in the game but only if, as mentioned, you have dark orbchangers.

this means hanzo becomes a high priority as a sub, of course. but i think i'll just be repeating the gallery here

Lots of individual Dark row enhances are good, but you're actually only going to be making one row in practical situations since the optimal match requires 8 Dark orbs to be eliminated at once, leaving you room for only 2 4-matches of Dark orbs, so 2prong from, say, GZL may be OK as well.

I'd go with pandora anyway because she's cute it's a pain rerolling, and she's a decent enough starter with her active as it is

She's not the best starter obviously but you can make a pretty solid early to mid game pandora team without much issue - vamp is farmable, CDK is farmable, CDD is farmable

You really don't need to worry about row enhances etc until much later

I just realized Heroes Descended means permanent Blue Valkyrie skillups. If my math is right I should be able to max her out in three weeks of nonstop Two Heroes, not accounting for rankups. I'm sure if I do that will invoke the immediate return of Poring Tower (and odds are by the time permanent descends are a thing here we'll have gotten Tower back anyway), but I like that I'll have that option.

Both should qualify, iirc- they're still legendary.

Okay, this game is sentient, right? I decided to put farming Mystic Blue on hold for a few hours while blue dungeons are on increased drops to evolve a bunch of my Cockatrices. I got three blue demon masks in three runs, then zero for the next 70 stamina. I decided to go run Frozen Soil to rank up, and in one run got three dub-saphilits. This game is learning what I'm trying to farm and deliberately withholding it, then when I go somewhere else it taunts me with stuff I'm just going to have to throw away to make more space.

Even in early game, Big Baddie is farmable. Make a team with a buncha those and you'll breeze through early game.
