*cough* I suggest we should just get back to Touhou accomplishments right about now, since things are getting a little bit spicy here. If this topic is really this hot, I think it should go to a separate thread. I'm no mod or anything, I'm just saying what I think about all this.

...Anyway, I just beat every single Double Spoiler scene, Hatate included. A year of nothing but pure frustration, and it all let up to this. I was honestly hoping ZUN would add a congratulations screen or something along these lines for 100% completion. I'm not mad though, I'm very satisfied and relieved I don't need to torture myself with DS anymore...

TD perfect stage 4 with Marisa. Probably the hardest of the last 3 stages, a lot of RNG dependent nonspells and there's a section in the stage that is quite difficult (the fast wave of fairies, 3rd wave of enemies after the midboss). Doing stage 3 now. "Desire Score Eater" is the only hard part though that's mainly because it's hard not to time it out. Marisa at 4 power usually has ~6 seconds left but longer if I manage to track Yoshika really well.

Managed to 1cc SA Hard with MarisaC; very glad to have achieved this with all characters. Died three times on each of Stages 4, 5 and 6. There were a lot of 50/50 moments that went my way, and a couple of deaths with bombs remaining. Now, if only I could get to Stage 4 on Lunatic without requiring a continue...

New strats and an incredible stages 1 + 2 pushed me over the edge even if I had a bad stage 3. Especially Shelia's second spell fucking me over because of horrible RNG. =/
Final score is 605,602,150.

I suppose I'll just try to get a no-death 600m+ run, preferably 610m+. That would be nice.

Come the 4-stage demo and the full game I'll be using somewhat less bombs to Shelia so I'll have much less chance of dying, preferably. I also think I have a somewhat decent strategy for Shelia's third spell worked out in my head, now I just need to go out and practice it.

Haven't spoke up here yet at all, so...

I'm currently on my way to a standard Normal Mode player,
having 1cc'd all cardinal Touhou games from EoSD up to LoLK on Easy and Normal, except SA and UFO Normal.
Also just cleared my first Extra (DDC) after 50+ attempts  :getdown:


Regarding BoSM, scoring actually works fairly normal when I Normal-1cc'd the demo with around 300M.
MPP had the biggest score inflation among the fangames (ido/NRT) as far as I know (just saying, don't want to get too off topic).

Actually the fangame with the most ridiculously inflated scores is Phantasmagoria Trues, with high-scores in the quintillions. (24 digits, compare 11 for tens of billions in MPP). So large it's funny.

Also, found a video on youtube showing a good way to do Tokibo's midboss spell.

First try after the midboss cap... took 6 or 7 attempts overall. Even with the good strategy it's still by far the hardest part of the stage.

In regards to scoring though, I'm still going to auto-bomb it. You can cancel it for a good 2k PIV and the extra enemies will more than make up for the point loss.

Holy balls, I guess I missed that one. But seeing how the score explodes to 1+billion in stage 1 in MPP is quite insane too.

Congratulations! I've managed only Normal so far, and that took quite a lot of work.

Anyway, have a BoSM Lunatic 534M run. It's only a 2M improvement, but I blame bad luck / skills on Stage 3.

During my last playthrough of EoSD, I screwed up quite a bit when trying to unlock the extra stage as MarisaB and was going into the Remilia fight with 0 lives and 1 bomb.  Nonetheless, I actually ended up almost perfecting her fight (the fear unfortunately got to me at the end).  Never give up!

Congratulations buddy, 500m to 600m sounds pretty tough but I'm sure you're dedicated enough to do a good job getting there.

Guess I'll just mention things I've gotten lately, I've gotten an MS Hard 145m Marisa run; a LoLK normal 1.443b Sanae run, kind of all but am working on some other things.

Also I am still working on LoLK's EX for NB, so far I'm kind of using Marisa since she actually does kind of a fine job against Hecatia with the exception of her second purple non, Lunatic Impact and Junko's nons I guess.

I am not sure if Marisa is the better choice here as Reimu has a huge advantage due to her hitbox, but I feel like Marisa actually does a decent job overall due to the DPS; I think that makes kind of a difference too, it is handy that I have a minor route for the stage portion with her; that grazing Hecatia enough for 200 life piece is quite easy.

Needs to be noted, but I am currently doing this in a bossrush patch that hasn't taken away the stage portion but just takes away the bombs (unless we speak of bombs you can get through Doremy, the fairy before Hecatia; Hecatia.) So essentionally nothing is really different except you have about no bombs, my main reason for this is that I don't have Marisa unlocked in the original game I suppose.

Those runs were really solid to watch, and I'm sure you can improve that LoLK Normal PB of yours when you're up to it. Gotta beat Karisa, after all. ;3

Marisa definitely deals the most damage to Hecatia, but I'd still prefer using Reimu, if I were you. That hitbox man.

In Touhou 8+, you can press Home or P to take screenshots (in PCB, only Home will work; not sure if EoSD has a shortcut). They'll show up in the game's folder, in a folder called "snapshot".

They'll be .bmp files, though, which take up a lot of space, so you might want to convert them (to something like .png) before uploading.
