After some problems with 10-6 and 10-7, I cleared whole ISC!
I also unlocked Ex scenes in StB. It's kinda funny how I have all scenes from day 7 and 9 cleared yet 5-5 is still left uncleared...

Very intense at the end, with lots of resources lost in Byakuren's last two spells. Some UFO snipes, but I actually made it.

Improved my IN PB by less than 5 million. New PB is 5,251,129,070. Stages 1, 2 and 6B were all NMNB. Stage 3 was a bit shoddily done. Lots of PoCs done without being below -30% on the gauge so probably wasted quite a few points there. Also screwed up Keine's final (not her last spell). Couldn't get into a good starting position ~~(BECAUSE I WAS BEING SUPER PICKY FOR NO GODDAMN REASON)~~ so died and bombed that. Quite messy from Starlight Typhoon to Illusion Seeker as well: deathbombed Starlight Typhoon, deathbombed Double Spark, died early on stage 5, bombed the section of enemies on stage 5 that spam you and then the screen gets cleared, died to Tewi's first and finally bombed Illusion Seeker. Could've got a much better score if I hadn't messed up all of that.

I can finally do IN's Stage 3 perfectly on normal with decent consistency. Time to pull an all nighter and try to 1CC it, yeah!
If I don't have this game 1CCd by the end of the month... I'm not gonna be surprised in the slighest. But I better do it, since if I don't do it this month, it's not gonna be anytime soon, because school will really start to pick up next month.

It's the number of practice attempts you have, which includes spell practice. So that means to keep that number you aren't allowed to use spell practice for stage 6b on that difficulty ever again, as well as not entering the stage itself via this option. I really don't think this counts as an achievement, however. It's not even related to any given run. The blogging thread would have probably been the more suitable choice of thread.

1 death because I started Keine's final too far to the right and didn't kill the familiars that I normally do so ended up getting blocked. Couple of scattered bombs and deathbombs but I still ~~barely~~ managed to beat .ASP's score which was MotK's best score. I'm very happy right now

Looks like my current methods are only going to get me a little bit past 5.5 billion at most. Guess this means I'll have to optimise my current strategies and learn the last few things that I've ignored. I think it's mainly Mystia's "midboss" spell and her final spell that I haven't learned. Wonder how long 6 billion is going to take xD

Probably not, if you go with what "IN player" literally means then Sakurei is probably best because breaking 3b on the extra stage is a huge feat and Sakurei also has a great score on easy. You could still argue that .ASP is better since they used border team and the border team WR is about 200m lower than the ghost team so I have a score advantage. I said "probably" because I suppose it requires a bit of personal judgement as to what's actually better...Nal Yoo has a lot of good scores on a wider range of characters/difficulties, maybe that's worth something.

In short, depends on what you think makes a better player :getdown: I personally think it's Sakurei, but others might think differently..._{THEY'RE WRONG}

Score runs are very impressive but they're not my cup of tea ~~says the guy that tries to get every single point and power thingie on the screen~~
But, I dunno, what's harder? A No-Vertical No-Bomb No-Miss No-Focus Pacifist Lunatic clear, or a No-Miss Hi-Scoring Lunatic clear? (I didn't add No-Bomb sicne I don't know if they're useful for scoring, but something tells me they might be.)

Nope, couldn't find any replays of it, maybe it is impossible. Though gensokyo org didn't have any TASes of it, either, so I dunno. I wonder if anybody has ever tried that? I'd pay to see it.

No-vertical typically requires dying/bombing, since some patterns are impossible.

Remove that, and sure, someone could TAS it. The bosses probably would be pretty boring though since it's pacifist (though pacifist stage portions can become extremely chaotic when enemies stay alive much longer than intended).

I streamed Touhou for the first time in over a year(?) (I hadn't played Touhou at all in a while either), and managed to randomly 1cc DDC Lunatic on a nearly-no-reset "how far can I go without stage practice?" attempt.

So now I have all Lunatic 1ccs in the standard Touhou games again (never bothered re-achieving that earlier after DDC's release, since I already preferred scoring at the time). Even if only for a few weeks...

I do wonder how far someone can get without shooting, bombing, dying, slowing down and going vertical once?
Anyway, I'm getting better at IN, so I might get a 1CC next time I tried. Although I always say "X game took me Y tries to 1CC", other than MOF and POFV, I don't have an exact number of tries I needed thanks to the fact I haven't played Touhou properly since 2013.
EOSD I'll still say it took me about 20,
POFV took me 9 tries, I counted it, and I did it in a span of two days,
10D I'll also say it took me about 20,
PCB I frankly have no idea. I think it totalized at roughly 38 tries, but if you only count how many times I tried this year, it was only about 4-6
MOF was 2, because I was just messing around with Marisa Bugged o3o

Well, for the ones I haven't 1ccd yet,
IN, well, I only really tried once this year, and I have no idea how many times I tried two years ago, but I doubt I tried too much,
UFO I never played that seriously. I only messed around with it for a bit and that's it.
SA, well, I have it, but I've only tested it.
DDC it's the same business.
LLK I only played at a friend's house for like 5 minutes.

I should keep up with the times.

I barely play extras and I seriously considered exiting there, but decided to try anyway.

Beat her (barely).
The fact I've played IN extra all of three or so times, years ago showed...
1cc'ed IN lunatic, only finished extra 0/0 :V

Eh, not really proud of it, and could improve it a crapton... but later. Much later. Lunatic is more fun :V

On the other hand in the stage portion everything except for Keine is piss easy :l

You're comparing apples and oranges there. They're both round, sure. They're also both fruit and tasty. But that's where the similarities end. Comparing 2 players over different categories is difficult and you can't really determine who's the better player like that unless the differences are very large (e.g if I had my 3b extra score and you PB would be 3.5, not 5.5). It would take me a lot of practice to beat your score and likewise it would take you a lot of practice to beat mine. At the very least we can say you are better at surviving the game than I am.

PS: My easy mode score is bad.

I must admit Sakurei is a really impressive player, not everyone can do scoring like you can. Granted, I can't exactly tell how impressive it is, since I don't do score runs and I'm not interested in doing them (Hell, I'm not interested in ever trying to 1CC a game on any difficulty but Normal)
But we're all just having fun with a really nerdy niche game, aren't we? :V I suppose we all try having fun with it in different ways.

I have yet to capture Hanged Hourai Dolls, actually. Or Russian Dolls.
Though I'd agree, I find it her hardest card. 80% luck, 20% skill for me :]

Anyway... bunch of things I got recently I haven't bothered noting here until now.

I captured Sakuya's midboss nonspell on lunatic (stage 5)
I captured Sakuya's opener on max rank on lunatic (#luck)
I did a no death run of PCB stage 4 lunatic on practice mode (yay for +3 or so bombs from lives + bomb drops), and....

Another IN lunatic 1cc, this one much better then my last one and on Kaguya's route too!
1 life and 3 bombs left at the end... my practice paid off.

Though stage 5's start was pure horribleness :colonveeplusalpha:
