IN Lunatic 1-life clear!

I haven't been playing much Touhou at all recently, and IN even less, save for a quick run yesterday that messed up on Mystia's last nonspell. I had meant for this attempt to be a warm-up at the very least, but after seeing how well the first four stages went (my previous best attempt failed at Double Spark), I started focusing a lot more on actually completing the challenge. My bombing reflexes worked against me a couple times though. I had turned the soundtrack off, so I couldn't use musical cues to help me time stuff (specifically on Stage 5; you'll see what I mean). Reisen also didn't go that smoothly, and I had to deathbomb twice, but those were the only really big slip-ups. Still, no deaths is no deaths. I'm still proud of how things went overall.

Today I'm starting to work towards an Imperishable Night Lunatic 1cc :3

I did a first attempt today to test the waters, with default resources and border team...
I reached Brilliant Dragon Bullet before game-overing!

It's obvious I still have a ways to go but I'm pretty happy with that result. Will make sure to post new developments here.

EDIT: I captured Magicannon "Final Spark" in stage practice mode!

I had nothing left for Eirin's last nonspell, Apollo 13 and Astronomical Entombing, but I did it....

Admittedly, there are several points I'm unhappy about (failing Shoot the Moon being the worst, heard a good way is to be near the middle so you can see the lasers better) but I'm still very happy with this. Especially the Marisa fight, which went very well otherwise.

Capturing Apollo 13 on lunatic should count towards getting Eirin's last word :V

UFO Lunatic 1cc! Just barely managed it too, ending with 0/0. That was pretty tough for a vanilla clear. With this, I've now cleared every single Windows game on the hardest difficulty.

And now I just got my first UFO Lunatic 1cc as well! It won't let me post an attachment though, so I'll just edit this when I have enough posts (I assume that's why it won't let me).

This was my fourth run that got to LFS. I really like this game and I'll keep practicing it

It'd be fun to 1cc with other shottypes in the future too.

I finally pulled off the MoF Hard 1cc I've been trying for a week or so - and boy was it good. I didnt die in Aya's fight once, ended Stage 6 with 3 extra lives in tow (reached Kanako with 5 stars), and the most awesome part: captured Divine Virtue of Wind God. That just felt amazing.

I just did my first IN Extra clear!

That was a pretty good run, I finaly captured Honest Man's Death! I death/bomb spammed Fujiyama Volcano though and that left me with one life for Hourai Doll, but I did it

EDIT: I did another run to unlock Imperishable Shooting, and I succeded! Exactly 7 spell cards captured. Fujiyama Volcano was - again - point of heavily loosing lives and bombs and it left me with zero of each... But I captured both Possesed by a Pheonix and Hourai Doll!

I messed up Imperishable Shooting, but I have it unlocked and I can practice it now

Extremely minor but just managed to Capture Mountain of Faith Lunatic ^^

That plus the fact I can do all Stage 6 in an average of 1 live, and all the time spent practicing the other 5 stages probably means its time to 1cc Lunatic this for real! (Probably could have done so WEEKS earlier, but I find I enjoy the games more if I grind on them A LOT. It also makes the 1cc Lunatics not so bad difficulty wise!)

Great work! VoWG is by no means an easy attack.

Anyway.... PCB lunatic 1cc attempt, got to stage 6 spam before continuing. I have a long way to go and yay dumb deaths (especially Yuyuko's two easiest attacks =_=) but I'm happy about that.

Also, I realised only recently you can use ReimuB's focused bomb at point blank for a suprisingly high amount of damage :V

That being said. I am thuroughly terrible at PCB's early game. That's a hard thing to get over.

After playing on/off for months while lazily trying to 1cc PCB on Hard with Reimu A I finally did it today. :3 I had such an hard time with this one since Youmu is one of the hardest boss in the entire series for me and for some reasons I kept playing badly again and again and again. Then after finally completing the game (with an hilariously bad run heh) I tried it again with Marisa A since I'd like to get an 1cc with every shot type and I realized something...

I FUCKIN HATE REIMU IN THIS GAME

She's so goddamn slow and her damage output is pathetic even with the B variant (I guess she's a powerhouse when shotgunning? But who has the skills to do that (not me)) and she spends so long for every spellcard and it was driving me insane, playing (and 1ccing at my second try!) with Marisa made me remember how much I love this game~ I still have to learn how to deal with half of Youmu's spellcards tho.

(oh for shit and giggles I tried the Extra stage with Reimu B and completed it after ~6 months since the last time I played it, good times)

The last time I checked, I couldn't 1CC PCB Normal with Reimu. Only SakuyaA.

Reimu B IS the definition of Shotgunning, IMO.

Both because of Duplex Barrier, but also because if your at a certain distance with her unfocused shoot and manage to hit with all the needles, you do the max damage you are capable of doing in the entire game, surpassing even that of Marisas firepower (Or so I have heard)... Anyway yeah its stupidly strong. That + her decent cherry rate is why I believe she is the best shottype overall.

Well, yes. But Youmu is particularly vulnerable - EVERY spellcard can be shotgun bombed easily.

Ten King's Retribution? She stays low on the screen anyway.
Hell God Sword? same thing. Focused damage + shotgun duplex barrier at point blank will kill her with practically no threat to you.
Obsession with the present world - everthing's fired from the sides, not from her. Point blank until she does the bullet gathering move then duplex barrier when anything gets close. If you're near a border shoot unfocused (or can do the all needles hitting) until you get a border.
Eternal Truth - just be somewhat careful about it so you don't get rammed by one of her aimed shots up close :V
Components of Kompaku: You need to be quick about it, but if you exit a wave early you can rush up to her and bomb her face. Not sure if it's viable for the first wave or not (AKA does she have super armor), I will test - it usually takes me ages to down this spellcard. :V

I've thought about a few other cards I might do it to. Notably "Law of Morality -Demon World-" which I am horrendously bad at, and Butterfly Delusion. Both normally take a while to down.
