(This intro post is written by three fisherman, not me)(only if I roll chemist (which I won't))It's that time of year again friends -
registration for the Final Fantasy 5 Four Job Fiesta begins today! What is it, you ask?
Why the most fun you'll get out of the best Final Fantasy game is what! :toot:
Instead of having to juggle between the 20 something classes, your mission is to play through with just four (or less if you choose certain modes) randomly assigned classes doled out by our benevolent overlord Gilgabot.
You can customize the fiesta in a number of ways to !Mix it up. Here's the following options for this year as shamefully copied from last year's thread...
- Normal - You'll be assigned one new job from each new crystal as you reach it, your party can be any combination of jobs as long as every assigned job is on at least one person.
- Random - Like normal, but you can get assigned a job from PAST crystals too.
- Team 750 - Breaking rods to victory with mage and mage-ish classes only!
- Team No 750 - Breaking rods is for scrubs we're too metal for that no mages allowed!
- Natural - One job per character and once you get it, that's it no changing Bartz is a thief all game
- BERSERKER RISK - Are you a bad enough dude to risk having up to THREE Berserkers on your team depending on how many donations come in? I'm not :V
- NEW: Classic Mode - Relive the excitement of the NES days (minus the Marsh Cave) by limiting your party to only the classes in FF1 - White Mage, Black Mage, Red Mage, Fighter, Monk and Thief. It's a natural run as you'd imagine, and duplicate classes are allowed just like in the olden days!
I've never played FF5 before this is clearly a bad idea for meWhile the majority of the people who participated with us last year did, it's definitely possible and some people actually reported that having the class restrictions kept them from getting overwhelmed in what to level. If not getting spoiled on anything is important for you that might be a little trickier I mean this game is like 20 years old,
Which version should I play?I've played SNES English patch, PSX and GBA last year, and I'm going to do the GBA version again. There's also Android/iOS but it seems some of the tricks have been patched out - some of the image/berserk shenanigans I believe. A list of changes between the GBA and Android/iOS version can be found
here, copied from Djibriel's excellent FFV walkthrough.
Help I rolled White Mage first
It's ok bby, a lot of us did (myself included) Just gotta plink through the first few bosses but at least you'll never die?
Help I rolled BERSERKER second

Byblos and Sandworm will suck if you don't have any other damage classes there's not much around that, but once you get some Doom Axes on Crescent Island sit back as random battles (and more bosses than you'd think) will drop like flies.
Chicken Knife or Brave Blade? If you have to ask, Chicken Knife. Not being able to run from battles
ever is a pain, and there's quite a few ways to get around the !Flee effect.
Eww I got Blue Mage/Chemist how am I supposed to deal with all the items/monster hunting? You don't realize how lucky you are just yet :ohdear:
Click for

Chemist lists and laugh your way to the end game/bonus boss victories.
Looks sweet anything else?Feel free to ask any questions in the thread, brag about your accomplishments, pimp out your stream (I have a better laptop I might actually do it myself this year!) and anything else go hog wild!
If you want some more general information, check the following links:
Our very own Garlyle wrote a badass FF5 handbook last year seriously he is some sort of FF5 wizard it's got basically everything you could ask for, though because of that probably not the best for straight reading - search for specific class/boss/items and you'll be golden :3
Sulla's solo class challenge writeups are great for specific boss battle strats if you can't lean on some of the more traditional methods.
A Reader's Digest of FJF also by a fellow MotK'er I have no name for a general refresher on what you'd be looking at.
