Score Attack!
« on: May 01, 2014, 05:29:41 PM »
Maybe some of you remember me posting a thread about this a while back. Anyways, score attack is actually happening now! Please use this thread to discuss/clarify the rules, and otherwise discuss the tournament. The organizer (yorgje) is still open to modifications to the rules, so if there's something you're uncomfortable with, make your opinion heard, and we'll try to debate it as civilly as we can.

Rules + description of tourney:

Sign up (open until June 10):

If you have questions or concerns that you would like definitively answered by the organizer of the tournament, contact yorgje@hellokitty.com or platonicSolid on irc.rizon.net. Alternatively, you can post your questions in this thread and I (as well as others I'd imagine) will answer them.

Signed up, this should be fun. Let's advertise this and get as many people involved as we can, aight?

This looks to be laid out in a really fun way-I'd definitely sign up, but I can't promise being able to stream most games because my laptop is bad.  If I manage to work out a way of streaming anything MoF+ without constant lag/everything else without random stutters I'll definitely sign up-I've got a month to do that, but there's no guarantee.

edit: Well, that was a potentially easy fix.  If I stream in absolute garbage quality the game wouldn't lag, and it'd prove that I played only in the allowed time.  The only question is would that be allowed?

I'm bumping the thread for two reasons:

1. There are roughly two weeks left for signups, if anyone who's interested hasn't seen the thread yet or wasn't sure whether to sign up or not and simply forgot about it, they should decide soon.

2. There have been some changes in term of points distribution, particularly in the survival-section

I see no reason why it wouldn't be. Of course, providing an entertaining stream for people to watch (and commentators to commentate) is the main goal, but the important part of it is that it rules out cheating, I'd say. As long as we can see something on the screen and not have a 100% blurr, it should be fine, really.

I should be able to do that, I'll test with UFO and DDC within the next week with something like 320x240 resolution+20 FPS and see if that works-I already know that resolution works and that framerate work both for Double Spoiler, so using both should also work.

Oh

Okay, the sign ups are over, but a schedule for most of the matches has been released. Look it up here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/11812361/sukoata/schedule.txt

So next weekend, a lot of things are going to be streamed and I would for everyone who is interested to come and watch. Some things are likely going to be at a high level (MoF normal ElD vs dxk, for example), others will be more casual (Like, I dunno. UFO extra, Senozza vs Sakurei). We're playing a lot of games (basically every windows game bar photos, TD and GFW). It would be really cool if some of you had time and came to check this event out. Aside from the host (PlatonicSolid/Yorgje), there're also guest commentators like Smokeyu (possibly commentating all things she isn't playing) and myself. other commentators haven't been confirmed yet, but I highly doubt that everyone will refuse to commentate on anything. I don't want to name anyone to put any pressure on them. I'll update when there's more people confirmed. Expect another post from me later this week with updates and stuff. Please watch if you can!
The matches will be restreamed here: http://www.hitbox.tv/yorgje
If you want to only watch a certain player, but aren't sure about their twitch/hitbox name, then visit http://stgrillz.appspot.com/ to see if they're live! Every participant I believe is in the list for STGrillz.

I'm more excited for the UFO scoring than I should be. I don't know about you, Saku, but with some of the things Senozza's been asking me about UFO's mechanics... To put it simply; I think it's going to be a very special round.  :V
