One possibility is that Mokou's trousers are made from the Robe, and the amulets are cosmetic---heck, they could even be patches covering holes---which she replaces when damaged by danmaku. Doesn't Tojiko, whose clan has history with the Fujiwara, have them too?

Are the trousers ever scorched? No example readily comes to mind. Whatever they're made of their fireproofness is probable. Good design for fire protection, too, the overalls.

I can't recall a specific instance in canon where they are clearly shown as such. This is a close one: http://en.touhouwiki.net/wiki/File:056BAiJRMokou.jpg but it doesn't really show much. Perhaps someone else may know?

Apparently, Mokou is Gensokyo's fireman, in more ways than one. Just don't expect her to put out fires though.

Mokou's defeated portrait doesn't mean she hurt herself with fire. The heroines can be pretty rough too you know, if you look at the general damage they cause post every boss fight.

Besides the obvious Septette for the Dead Beethoven, are there any other instances where ZUN is influenced by classical music?

Is it safe to say that Beethoven is his favourite out of all the composers out there?

ZUN used the BACH motif in U.N. Owen, but after EoSD he has shown very little if any classical (or modern orchestral) influence in his music. He probably doesn't listen to this kind of music regularly at all, and there's a good chance that he only listened to some classical music during the development of Kioh Gyoku and EoSD so he could have a rough idea of how music with a distinctly western tone sounds like.

ZUN did say in his interview that music comes first and everything is build around it, so definitely could be related in terms of "feeling the theme" but speculative eventually whether that is true or not. He does have shelves full of books so he might be combining things too.

Based on Abraham's post: I wonder if there is a reason for him embracing the electric guitars in DDC for example, they are quite noticeably around.

Has anyone already asked this?

Impossible Spell Card is the english subtitle, Danmaku Amanojaku is the japanese title. In "Danmaku Amanojaku" which word is the noun and which the adjective?  So, if "danmaku" was the adjective it would be modifying "amanajaku" ("this specific amanojaku [Seija] is special because she goes to places to make danmaku [bullet barrages]") ; if "amanojaku" was the adjective it would be modifying "danmaku" ("the particular danmaku [bullet barrage] is special because it's being made by an amanojaku [Seija]").

This is a confusion of being a native spanish speaker, learning english as second language, and then trying to apply these to japanese.

Danmaku Amanojaku has an anamojaku that shoots danmaku, and dodges danmaku, and the danmaku that she dodges is very amanojaku-like. It's a compound noun, and so its meaning is not so exact as you're imagining. Is an "Explosion Monster" a monster that explodes, or that causes explosions, or that is found in explosions? The words themselves don't specify.

They don't; but what is specified is that an "explosion monster" is a type of monster, not a type of explosion. This is because English has left-branching compound nouns; the first element always modifies the second. Some languages do it the other way round.

Japanese also has left-branching compound nouns; danmaku "bullet curtain" is a good example. It means a curtain of bullets -- not a type of bullet.

It's called "Cold Inferno". Pretty much deliberately ambiguous magic; you could just as easily argue it's a really cold magical mist as you would magical fire.

I have a question about TH08 IN. Who among them is truly stopping the night?

The most likely candidates are Barrier team and Scarlet team, specifically, Yukari and Sakuya.

It depends on which team you're playing. Whichever team you're playing is the team that did it (or a member of that team. Sakuya, for example)

(as for which one canonically did it, it's never stated, probably because it falls under the "It doesn't matter" category. Canonically, SOMEONE of the four playable teams stopped the night, and that's all that the storyline of Touhou needs.  ....probably)

Alright thanks. I don't remember anyone of them capable enough to do that kind of thing.  But now that i think about it maybe it could be Sakuya since she have a time stop ability or maybe not . Yeah it really doesn't matter.

Keep in mind that technically they are not stopping time, they are extending the night (slowing it down). Timeflow still takes place in the game, but slowly based on performance.

Any of them would be pretty capable of doing something like that, really:

Yukari can manipulate the border between day and night (she even did some bizarre stuff with this specific border in IaMP, making it be both night and day at the same time, so I don't think extending the night would be beyond her);
Sakuya can slow down time;
Alice/Marisa probably did some big magical thing;
Yuyuko and Youmu... uh... well, Yuyuko tore a hole between the Netherworld and Gensokyo, who knows what else she's capable of.

Yeah, these Touhou characters sometimes have other random powers that aren't specified.
Youmu has that slow time gimmick, which has nothing to with swordsmanship and she can also steal spring.

But the 2 characters that do have abilities that are mentioned that could have possibly stop the night would be Sakuya and Yukari.
Yukari did her border of day/night thing in Immaterial and Missing Power, so stopping the night doesn't seem too much of a stretch.
Sakuya has her time stop thing, so stopping the night also doesn't seem too much of a stretch.

In either case, without mentioning their powers, the most likely characters are Yukari and Sakuya, mainly because of events.
Reimu and Yukari are Barrier team, that is the default team that solves incidents. Her profile has some stuff on this incident.
Scarlet team's ending gets continued on by Silent Sinner in Blue, so that team also has pretty good likelihood of being the culprit.

From Imperishable Night:

Marisa: You.
You messed with the boundary of night and day again, right?

Reimu: We're the ones who're stopping the night.
But now isn't the time for that!

(obvious enough)

Reimu: Just as I thought that it was strange
that the night still hadn't ended...

So was you, Marisa.

Marisa: Oi, you've got it wrong.
The only bad one is this person here.

Alice:  What!?
You're guilty of the same thing, aren't you, Marisa?

(Marisa and Alice's comments is basically them admitting guilt indirectly.  Although it doesn't say HOW they did it)

Reimu: This is just like when you made that scarlet mist.

Remilia:  Sakuya is doing something weird,
but we're not the ones who're doing the biggest thing right now.

(IE, Sakuya is the one stopping the night.  But that's not the biggest thing, which is the Moon itself)

Yuyuko to Marisa:  Oh, you don't seem to understand.

We're the ones who are stopping the night.

(again, they don't say HOW for that one)

Yes, that is the text of the Imperishable Night, but we can't just look at that. With that kind of argument you could say either Reimu or Marisa could have solved the Scarlet Mist Incident and either of the 3 could have solved the Spring Snow Incident.
But that isn't the case, Reimu is the one who solves both those incidents, as verified by Perfect Momento in Strict Sense.

So, in Imperishable Night, we have 4 possible paths, but only 2 paths are likely. The two being Barrier Team and Scarlet Team.
Barrier Team, because Reimu, by default solves all incidents, unless stated otherwise, like UFO, where it is solved by Marisa B. This incident is also mentioned in Reimu's PMiSS profile.
Scarlet Team, because that team's ending is related to Silent Sinner in Blue.
The other 2 characters could have stopped the night (the how doesn't matter too much), but the scenario is much less likely than either barrier or scarlet team.

FYI, the "Magic Team" was in the original 禁呪の詠唱チーム"Team Intoners of the Forbidden Spell" (often shortened to 詠唱組 "Intoners" in fandom speak), which should answer what Marisa and Alice did. The names of the other teams are less informative:
幻想の結界チーム Team Kekkai of Fantasy
夢幻の紅魔チーム Team Scarlet Devil of Dreams
幽冥の住人チーム Team Denizens of the Nether

I think it might be helpful to narrow this question down a bit. In what sense do you mean "yearning" - for an intangible, a tangible, something lost, something they never had?

I honestly don't think this can be answered with just one character topping them all in yearning. There are probably a group at the top.

I guess it's kind of a silly question, but I can't think of many off the top of my head. All the characters seem fairly.... content with their daily lives. A few have some ultimate goals, like Alice and autonomic dolls, Marisa trying to catch up to Reimu, maybe Yukari and the state of Gensokyo. No one seems to have desperate yearning for something unattainable, or at least nigh unattainable. Something a bit melancholic by nature.

For that dream-like, hard to reach kind of yearning, there might actually be a few contenders :
-Kasen, regarding her "arm"
-Mokou, who wants to apologise for what she did to Iwakasa
-Maribel and Renko, regarding their search for Gensokyo

"The most" seems kinde iffy, as there is no way to tell if a desire is superior to another one, besides, living for the enjoyment of life is about right too for a goal. The list might explode depending on what you meant with "yearning", I only picked those whose "yearning" seems mainly personnal and is not an a priority rather than something that they'll dedicate their whole being to (more characters might be added based on interpretation)

I think the spirits of desire in TD form our best objective look at who "wants" the most, and that would be Miko. Of course, that's framed as ambition rather than yearning, which has a very different nuance.

As for who thinks "the world is wrong, it needs to be changed", I think Byakuren and Kasen would tie for that.

As for the most personal "what was once lost, and may never be reclaimed", probably Satori and her relationship with Koishi. Koishi is general is incredibly tragic if you stop to think about it even slightly.
