> But Ran never gets to finish her sentence.  With a loud crack, a mass of of bolts forms in the hallway a meters ahead of you.  Five eyes suspended by rotating disks stare down at you, connected by chains to a vaguely person-shaped mass in the center.  Sparks fly out at you as the being quivers and shakes where it hovers, blocking your path.

> You shout out to it, trying to reason with it.  The mass of electricity stirs, and then shoots a lightening bolt at you.  However, you are prepared and veer to the left before it can hit you.  Ran fires a few pellets at it, and it backs away from her.
> You think back to the first time you fought this thing.  You were in Makai, and this thing was flying around in the skies above.  When it noticed you, it swooped down and attacked.  It didn't give you any warning, and it didn't talk to you.  However, it seemed intelligent.  Maybe even sentient.

> You equip the Yin Yang orb and fly low.  Ran drops to one knee and shoots a barrage of blue bullets towards the electric thing's lower eyes.  It retaliates by shooting out a flurry of bright yellow bubbles, that hurt to look at.  However, some of the danmaku Ran fired hits its mark, and the electric thing shoots up towards where you guess the ceiling would be.

> You skim along the floor, tossing the Yin Yang orb up as you go.  At this close a distance, you clearly see the outline of a girl behind all the lightning bolts.  She bends down to grab at you, but the orb slams her in the stomach.  You come barreling out of the frenzy on the other side of the hallway as your weapon pile-drives into her.  Ran continues to fire danmaku at her.

> You spin back around and use needle danmaku to propel yourself backwards.  The electric girl cowers under such persistent fire, until suddenly you see sparks dancing on your needles.  She lets out a burst of electricity that travels along the danmaku and sends volts running through your body.  The convulsions are enough to make you cease fire, but Ran picks up the slack with another nonspell.

> You manage to shoot out some talismans with difficulty.  The girl shudders as they hit, but you're working with spellcard rules: they can't be hurting her.
> As you open fire, you watch as she turns her attention--and the voltage--towards Ran.  The kitsune spins and bounces off the walls as she attempts to dodge, but there's not much room for her.  The Yin Yang Orb, still ricocheting around, strikes one of her tails, causing her to yelp in pain.

> You take the opportunity shoot more needles at the girl.  You fire them off in waves, having learned your mistake from last time.  You glance at the orb every now and then, watching as it bounces around and looks like it's ready to come back to you, but it's not.
> The girl is taken aback by the needles and drops her attack in surprise.  Ran takes the opportunity to fire rounds of kunai-shaped danmaku, trapping her in between those and the needles.  She is now on the defensive.

> You continue firing needles.  The girl tries to dodge, but with danmaku coming from both directions, she's easily overwhelmed.  Chains rattle as the eyes connected to them go falling to the ground.  She appears to be shrinking towards the floor.

> You keep shooting, until Ran slowly stops firing danmaku.  You follow suit, just as the girl sinks into the ground, eyes and all.
> She now appears to be an imprint on the ground, but then splits into two and runs to each wall.  Then, she keeps splitting into more and more copies of herself, each one joining hands as the eyes duplicate themselves as well and spread out above them.  The skip back and forth as Ran watches with a furrowed brow.  The Yin Yang Orb is flying back to you.

> You scoop the orb into your arms and take off down the hall, shouting at Ran to stall.
> "Got it!" Ran shouts back.
> You zip down the hall, eyes spinning as you pass endless golden figures etched into the wall.  You hear Ran starting up a spellcard just as bolts of lightening emerge from each wall and meet up at the middle.  You race away from them, flying and flying until you hit something soft and go tumbling down what feels like a stretch of fabric.  The sounds of battle grow distant as you fall.

> You try to catch yourself, only to land on some sort of cushion first.  You take a look around, finding yourself in what appears to be a room made entirely of plush and pillows.  Above you, you see a long tunnel that is still shaking from the force of you falling through it.  There's a door at the end of the room, leading off into some other dark hallway.  More eyes dot that part, but here there is nothing but dark purple.
