Well, I solved my problem by using LocaleSwitch to force-change the locale of the game to Simplified Chinese (zh-cn). Note that it's entirely in Chinese, but it should be simple enough to figure out.
I assume setting the locale in Windows to Simplified Chinese does the trick as well.
