So anyway, decided to try playing PCB Normal as Reimu A... BIG MISTAKE! Wow, Sakuya A's power wasn't anything special, but at least it didn't FREAKING SUCK BEYOND BELIEF!!! Spellcards kept going for TERRIFYING amounts of time and I only managed to reach Youmu by bombspamming everything from somewhere in stage 4 onward ._. I'm never playing PCB Reimu A again...

Hehe, yeah, I never realised how terribly weak she was until recently. When I tried my no-focus Phantasm run BoLaD went on for so long that I actually got to the timeout phase even thought I was shooting Yukari the whole damn time. <_<

So, I have been trying to beat EoSD Normal for a while. I only really play it on weekends while my wife is either out or sleeping, so I can't say I practice much.
Today I decided to give ReimuB a go, and to my surprise it was an awesome run! No deaths up to Patchouli.

AND HER SPELLS ARE ALL DIFFERENT THAN FROM REIMU A?

4 deaths at Patchouli and I still managed to reach Curse of Vlad Tepes o_o

I'm too tired to try again now.

Yeah, it's a tough card, which is why I'm after it... it's the only Prismriver card I haven't capped yet. :V Now if only I could actually get to fight the damn thing. <_< I can't find a consistent way of actually reaching it. I got to it a few times by dying on Live Poltergeist with Marisa, but that's given me Bosendorfer before too. Pretty clueless about how it decides which Prismriver you get but it seems to like making me fight Bosendorfer Spirit Performance, bah.

Patchy has a completely different set of spell cards depending on which shot type you're using and which difficulty you're playing at. Thankfully, it's a lot less random than what the Prismrivers give you... <_<

Fun fact: You control which spell card you face in the Prismrivers fight by how much damage you do to the Prismrivers on their first spell card. The one you deal the most damage to will be the one you face (the one attributed to your character being in the center to make you fight her by default).

And yeah, Patchy's fight can dramatically increase in difficulty depending on the shot type. On lunatic I'd say Marisa A Patchy is harder than Remilia when she's on max rank.

Yep for every character, Patchouli has some different spell cards.  Just go useMarisa A on hard mode or lunatic. T_T

Kanako is evil. MoF is evil. Kanako's final spell is pure evil beyond anything, and I am surprised that our universe still exists after it was displayed on a computer screen. That is all.

GODDAMNIT YUYUKO WHY IS IT ALWAYS ONE WAVE? I mean I'd understand if I absolutely sucked at the card and couldn't do any of it but I always manage every bit of Resurrection Butterfly 80% except for one wave. This has happened now five times in a row.

Also,

Reading this gave me the strangest sense of deja vu. I'm sure I've seen someone say the EXACT same thing before... hm. To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised... that card has a reputation for a reason, after all. :V

I have been complaining about VoWG for 2 weeks now. Still haven't beaten the game because of that card =/

I think the last phase of Legendary Flying Object is harder than anything VoWG throws at you. :\ Since the card is actually predictable in the same vein as VoWG, it's probably a matter of realizing what to do, but for now it's just a clusterfuck.

Alternating between failing horribly at Resurrection Butterfly 80% and VoWG Lunatic is weirdly cathartic. :V

300+ (and counting) UFO Lunatic attempts. Only 3 of those made it to S5, and of the 3, only 1 of those made it to S6.

It'd be nice if I didn't keep messing up S1 and 2.

EDIT: Dying during bullet clear is stupid. Why is the delay so much longer?

Ohh, I would've been able to do it on the other run if I had decided to bombspam instead of trying to capture the claustrophobic Spell Cards.

I'm having trouble deciding if it's more annoying to fail one wave and clear everything else or to die FIVE WAVES IN A ROW. <_<

I wish I'd stop capturing QED after I've had a shitty run. I know I should probably ESC, DOWN Z, UP Z, Z, Z, Z, Z, Z right after dying, but I figured some extra practice and seeing where I may be able to push some extra graze points would be useful. I'm taking a short break after every run just so I can collect myself again.

Also the stream of shitty starts. Restarting constantly before I even hit FURANDORU. Though I'm already used to it thanks to IN and MoF's extra. I can pretty much deathESC.

Currently listening to BT - This Binary Universe instead of the game's soundtrack. I've actually been doing this for any stage I've been constantly playing on for a while now. Listening to some Cowboy Bebop and Escaflowne OSTs while playing proved to make the stage much more fun.

Actually, I wouldn't say I'm annoyed or particularly angry. Even to the point of very nearly getting that perfect clear, I'm still going forward and enjoying every second of it. 240 million points is my highest scoring entry so far, which is already a very competent score and actually pretty high considering I'm focussing on survival and spellcard capture.

Like I do some crazy dodge between amulets and then I'm 'hell yeah I might actually do this' and then I try and dodge between amulets UNDER ABOUT THREE OTHER WAVES and then I die and think 'what the HELL possessed me to think that was a good idea' and yeah. ;_;
