>"That just means I won't be able to dip into my bottomless stack of blood puns when I try to charm her."

>"No I-" Yuzuriha stops and blinks. "Okay, I hadn't heard that one before."
>From down the western hallway, following the yellow-furred dog, comes a striking woman of medium height, her calf high leather boots clunking on the stone floor. She sports a blood red jacket with dark blue needlework around the seams, a pair of white gloves and a somewhat short riding cap. Her purple hair is short, and her eyes are a pale shade of green. Dangling from a black leather belt at her waist are a leather riding crop, and a sheathed saber. Very official looking, this one, though she seems to be merely human.
>"I see we have another guest, indeed." she says as she heads towards you. Stopping, she places her hand on her stomach and bows respectfully. "I am Celes d'Arquien, steward of the Cobalt Keep."

>"Ah, a reporter." Celes says as the dog sprints out before her, reuniting with Yuzuriha. "Is this a rival newspaper to the Bunbunmaru?"

>"She's definitely not come home back yet, though."

>"After a month?" Celes seems rather surprised. "Well, that would explain why we've yet to receive the final version of her story. The reporter that was here before did say she had a couple of stops to make on her way home, but nothing that should have delayed her that much."
>"This IS Gensokyo." Yuzuhira puts in. "There are plenty of distractions in any direction."
>"True. But Aya-san is a woman dedicated to her craft. If she has been delayed that much, I can only assume it was by something serious."

>"That's the one. Seen her lately?"

>Yuzuriha numbly shakes her head.
>"You'll have to forgive Yuzuriha." Celes says, giving a look to the canine youkai. "When she met Ran-san years ago, she left a rather large impression on her. She gets a bit tongue-tied whenever Ran-san comes up."
>"As for the other two individuals you mentioned, neither of them have visited us either. Which in the case of Marisa is actually something we have been wondering about ourselves. Everyone we have met since our awakening that has spoken about her has told us that she has had a hand in resolving every major incident over the past several years. But so far as we can determine, she was not seen anywhere on the Night of Rage. Nor since. From what Reimu-san told us about her, she should have visited us by now."

>Celes nods. "It was partially to aid Remilia-san and the Countess with a project they're working on."
>"We drew a lot of attention due to our involvement in the Night of Rage. And not all of it undeserved. But since then, many individuals have come and gone. I understand this is not uncommon for those involved in an incident over the past few years, at least for those who live in an area not so out of the way, such as the Myoren temple residents, or the Scarlet Devil and her folk. As a matter of fact, two members of the Myoren temple organization are guest of ours now."

>"There's pretty much been someone from the Myoren temple here for the past month." Yuzuriha adds, seemingly recovered from her starstruck moment. "They've been helping us get used to the Gensokyo of now."

>Celes considers your question."Perhaps you would care for a seat? That is not a simple question to answer."

>The steward nods, then turns her attention to Yuzuriha. "You can go back to your post. And if you see Honoka when she's finished out there, tell her the Countess would like a word with her."
>"Sure thing."
>"No, wait." Celes stops her fellow Cobalt as she turns. "Send one of your dogs to Tsumiko, tell her to meet us in the east sitting room. If Hatate-san is as curious as Aya-san is, she'll want to meet her before the day is over."
>"Isn't Merlin up there with her?"
>Celes considers that. "Give her fifteen minutes."
>"Right, chief."
>Her orders issues, Celes gestures towards the eastern wing. "If you'll come with me, please?"

>Yuzuhira departs as Celes leads you down the eastern wing of the Keep. The walk gives you a bit of time to analyze the odd sensation you get from this woman with the odd last name. Humans and Youkai have a presence, a sensation, that is distinct from one another, but this woman's presence is strange. It doesn't feel completely human. Which makes some sense, you think to yourself. A human living around youkai for a great length of time can be changed by the proximity, even becoming a youkai themselves in some cases. Celes here may be on her way down that path.
>The path she leads you down now, however, leads to the second door on your left, passing by a closed room that smells faintly of medicinal herbs and iodine. Opening her target door, you are admitted into a spacious stone room featuring a large table in the middle of the room with its head pointed at the large unlit fire pit set in the north wall. A small wood table is parked in the northwest corner, a matching table and chairs in the southeast. Apart from the furnishings, the room is quite sparse, a single oil painting hanging over the hearth, and a cloth bell pull to the left of the door. The air in here is slightly musty, the feel of a room that's only been recently opened after being closed for a very long time.
>"Please, have a seat." Celes says, indicating the whole room's availability as she gives the bellpull a tug.

>Unimpressed, but not visibly so, by the decor of the room, you select one of the chairs at the long table at random. Celes strides across the room to take a seat opposite of you.
>"First of all," she starts, folding her hands in front of her, "Let me apologize for the events that transpired on the Night of Rage. Even though that incident was the result of an accident, all of us here feel a certain responsibility for what happened. Especially for your tengu; Aya-san informed us that your people had been especially affected by the Rageblooms and their spores."
