You know what, twice in arenas I have played the Sea Giant.

And both times it's been immediately taken by a Mind Control Tech. And it's the only time a MCT ever gets it's battlecry.

Seriously RNG? At least the second time I had my Big Game Hunter in hand.

Speaking of, currently I think 4/1 with a Preist deck which is working a lot better than expected. Divine Spirit Mogushan Warden is hilarious, even if I don't have Inner Fire; it can protect things like an Enraged Worgen.

Also had *ANOTHER* Mage draft where Fireball did not show up at all. That's 2 in a row. At least I got one Flamestrike.

The loss was a very close game against a Hunter who then pulled out a King Krush on me.

Edit: 2nd loss at 6 wins... against someone of Legend Rank.

Edit #2:

I have a little brainteaser for you:

How many different things can you think of that would allow Gul'Dan [Not Lord Jaraxxus, Gul'Dan], or Jaina [Spelling?] to attack?

I can think of 10. Most of them involve legendaries, and those which do not involve epics.

Have any of you ever done this? And if so, what's the quote?

8-3 Miracle Rogue draft. 8th win was against a mage who missed lethal and suicided :V

Hunters officially worst than mages with the throw spells at your hero to win the game tactic.

And Rouges are worse than that.

Also I play Spellpower Druid. With spellpower Swipe becomes a Consecrate that deals 5 damage to the hero instead of 2, but you can also choose where the 5 damage lands.

I wish I had Malygos, who I'd be able to get out early with Inervate/Wild Growth.

Swipe: Deal four 9 damage to one target and 1 6 damage to all others.

Just a wee bit broken. [And today I learnt that strikethrough and 4 do not work well together]

I've been hit by double malygos swipe. It's not fun :|
Malygos Druid doesn't really work though since it's extremely gimmicky

A fun way to end the game...

My Turn 9:  RAGNAROS!

Opponent (a druid) doesn't touch rag on his turn.

My Turn 10:  Double Faceless Manip into Rag!  TRIPLE RAGNAROS POWAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

I win at the end of Turn 11.  (Which, for lulz, I played Ysera.)

Had a mage today, played nothing but spells until the turn he could play ragi. Then I used whirlwind and execute on it.

Seriously these all spell decks, get some board control. Spell damage minions are great.

On the other hand, I was playing a [pretty bad due to lack of cards] Shaman deck for my daily quests today.

The deck is rather weak to rushdown.

Guess what I play against four times in a row? Brainless rushdown Warlocks. with no strategy beyond 'dump everything in your hand by Turn 3'. The fourth one topdecked Jaxxaus just as I was about to win and turned it around, and I actually saw a spell [A soulfire which got discarded when he played a Succubus]

I dusted my Nozdorumu and used him to finish my set of murlocs. Games ending on turn 3 too fun.

12 Win Warlock has been achieved!

MVP of the deck is pretty obviously Leeroy. Thoughts while drafting and playing some of these cards:

- The Leeroy plays that weren't game winners often cleared taunts (including a Fen Creeper and an Argus'ed Ravenholdt). It combos amazingly with both Dread Infernal and Mortal Coil.

- Hellfire is an amazing card and did as much work for me regaining control of the board as Leeroy did in finishing the game. #2 card in the deck.

- Summoning Portal was the most controversial pick, but I think it's a card that deserves a chance in Arena. It's pretty much a Shieldbearer (due to unofficial taunt) that allows you to play 2 minions on a turn that you may have only been able to play one. One of the best combos was Turn 7 Summoning Portal + Fen Creeper. Wait till at least Turn 5 to play it although if you have to play it on Turn 5, you are in trouble. Summoning Portal was never a wasted card in my hand and I will definitely try to draft with it when I can.

- Soulfire, and Power Overwhelming are probably mandatory cards in a good Warlock draft. Dread Infernal is very high on the list as well.

- I took a Bloodfen Raptor over a Flame Imp late in the draft. In a late game topdeck war, the Flame Imp is a huge liability. I'm now thinking it's ok to skip turn 1 just to play the Raptor turn 2. The tempo advantage is not THAT good in the early game.

- 2 Kodos is surprisingly good. You can throw one out just as a minion and still have a second one for the value kill. And it gets them in Gnomish Inventors, Dire Wolf Alpha, Silver Hand Squires, Acolyte of Pain, Keeper of the Groves, and unbuffed Gurubashis.

- 1 incidental damage from your hand is so good (to kill weak minions and break Divine Shields) which is why I also value Elven Archer higher than average. You draft her for the 1 mana Battlecry, not the body. She has quite a few kill shots on enemy heroes. On that note...

- I have an undying love for Mad Bomber. He is my bro and always a workhorse in my decks. The chance for him to be amazing outweighs the risk of him backfiring if you can frame the odds in your favor.

11-3 So close
Kiro was amused by how this deck was winning

Probably the most amusing game involved a turn 1 Shieldbearer killing 3 Silver Hand Recruits and a Silver Hand Knight

Stream sniping happened during the Grand Finals of RDU vs Amaz. RDU's friends were PMing him the cards in Amaz's hand during the match as it was happening live, although it did not seem to be RDU's intent as he called for the refs after the match.

The referees decided to just delete his friends list and let the match go, leaving a bad taste in everybody's mouths, especially since RDU ended up winning the grand finals and an extra $5000.

Situation was pretty shitty for everyone involved.
People are hating on RDU because of the possibility that he did intend to cheat from the start, but there is an equal chance that they were trolling him and ruined his otherwise legit tournament win.
Amaz having the grand finals stolen from him after his crazy performance with his signature 'bottom tier' Priest deck.
Also Blizzard and Dreamhack basically looking like a joke for having such a blatant exploit available which could have been avoided by something as simple as a Do Not Disturb mode or an offline tournament realm server or even just having everyone delete all their friends from the start.

rip esports :V

Oh yeah also not to mention the fact that the whole tournament was streamed on some random shitty site that would crash every 5 minutes instead of just using Twitch because they were sponsored by that site.

Kappa

seriously though it was so bad it actually crashed my entire internet connection

like i had a twitch stream and world cup stream open at the same time working fine, but then as soon as it opened the hearthstone one my entire connection would just keep crashing even after i closed the other two

and there was no other options to watch it because they paid off everyone to only allow that site to stream it
